Stealth Cables

A good number would be rolling their eyes before they got to your second paragraph.

Any hypothesis as to your perceived difference swapping direction? I do not recall hearing of this before.

After a week, I will reverse the direction on F.O. again to hear if I was having too much good time. After all, the new switch created a “new” sound in my system that I have not heard before.

There is also the Muon 2 USB cable.
I did not compare it to the Shunyata Omega but to the Sablon Evo which is considered equivalent to the Shunyata Omega…
And I preferred the Muon 2.
Plus it is significantly less expensive than the Shunyata.

Luca has tried Pink F., Sablon Evo, Muon 2, Stealth, and some others that I do not recall. He settled on Stealth, and Sablon was not his second choice if I remember.

They are all system dependent I am sure.

I have no experience with Sablon Evo and Omega USB cables but I can confirm that the Muon 2 is my preferred USB cable (I tried Pink Faun, AQ Diamond, Cad II-R and a few others).

Next year I’m going to try the new Stealth USB with double collars…

Need to say that using the MSB Pro USB module, my path already sports a fiber isolation before the DAC.

Oh, I got USB confused with etherent again. Thanks for the correction.

You have posted your comment before mine, ah ah ah.

Sorry, the comparison you are referring to is correct but it was related to Ethernet cables. As per USB cables, see my previous post.

I know, I know… to many tests could create confusion, sorry!

If I were to guess at something that might be responsible for this, it could be that either one transceiver or one end of the fiber is either not cut correctly or in some other way not mating squarely. We used to have trouble like this 20 years ago with guys who were first taught to terminate SM fiber. Very few could do it correctly in the field.

IME there is a bit of an art to it. The techs reporting to me could make their terminations, MOL, but quality was inconsistent, limiting data transfer. For critical path projects concern with quality terminations was to the point I contracted the work out to individuals whose sole function was optical terminations. Upon project start-up we had zero defects, and that particular project was critical path for our return to service.

That’s the way to do it. It really is a bit of an art.
