Fantastic!

Is that a telephone I see in front of the left amp?

My God, there’s some seriously impressive stuff in there!

What’s the one furthest right of the top left cube? Looks like a thick book?

Alfred Schnabel, 32 Beethoven sonatas. Amazing!!!

Some other gems:
Dinu Lipati with Karajan in the Schumann piano concerto (best version ever if you ask me)
Cortot Chopin études
Karajan Beethoven symphonies
Karajan Brahms symphonies
Brendel Schubert piano
Schubert piano trios Rubinstein/Fournier/Szeryng
and the list goes on and on.

Pure gold, thank you Dad !!

I have no merit at all. My father gave all those treasures to me because he is 84 and he says he is too old for vinyl.
But he still plays the piano. Last week I called, I was speaking to my mother and I could hear in the background Schubert’s « auf dem wasser zu singen », that he was playing on his Steinway D concert grand piano.
I am blessed that I grew up in a family where music and culture are so essential.

My father is still ticking at 83, he donated me his old collection, but he was never really that into music. He had a few more generic classical pressings from the 70’s, but most of the rest of the records were my Mum’s, she was more into Abba, Beatles, Bee Gee’s, and stuff like that. Unfortunately, my parents didn’t appreciate how to care for or store vinyl, so they’re not in the best condition.

I’m very grateful for the copies I was given, I keep them in a separate box that receives added attention and care. And they fit my music tastes well. One day I intend to spend a bit of time on them and gently and carefully try to glue some of the covers back together, and really thoroughly clean them (waiting for an ultrasonic for that).

But yours have been collected by someone who knew exactly what they were after, there’s serious love in those records, the care that’s gone into preserving them in such good condition, and the pieces they are in the first place.

Bravo to your father!

An amazing collection that I will pass to the next generation, along with the Thorens TD 160 b mk 2 with SME arm.

Nice looking system!
Swapping out the Furman for a P15 or P20 (with a good power cable if funds allow) would be a nice improvement in the whole system.

Thanks.
I’m in Israel , No option to “try before you buy” here.
Investing in an expensive component without first listening will be a gamble to me , unfortunately.
Also wanted to try the AudioQuest Niagara 5000 but same reason to fail …

What does the rest of the room look like and how far out are the speakers from the wall front wall? Seems like you could pull them out further. Play around with different sub.placents and think of getting a second.

I’ve been a bit complacent and was loving my speakers. I just unboxed my WOO WA5-LE headphone amp and decided to fire it up. It’s the two chassis device with the funky tubes.

You can see my tweaking speaker position after Sunlight. Not a big change but important nevertheless.
