Charlie, favors ribbons, preferably Nordost.

Kafka favors jazz

Sparky favors all forms of mischief

So sad, in general we keep an eye on them. Had one that bit in to an extension cord as a kitten and survived. Her nickname is Sparky.

Hey, older post, but wanted to check in with a question you might have some insight on. I just took delivery of the new Holo Audio Spring DAC 3 with the preamp (still in the early break-in period, so trying not to judge the sound just yet!). Wondering what the performance bump may have been with the introduction of the power plant 20 to your Holo Audio May?

I’m moving forward with the Power Plant 15 and looking plug in the following:
(2) Stellar M1200 mono blocks (L/R)
(3) Stellar M700 mono blocks (C/RR/LR)
Lumin U1 Mini Stream transport
Holo Audio Spring 3 DAC/Pre
Monoprice HTP-1 AV Preamp

Hoping that this is the last modification for a while…

“a while”. That’s subjective. It used to be a year or so for me. Now it’s every two months.

Do you have bunnies? I recently learned they like to nibble on cables.

The fence is mostly for the toddler, but also the cat.

I wish I had a space where I could have the rack in the middle. I’ll probably have to stick with
running long speaker cables.

But, can’t have it all. The best part about my room is how the back wall is open and flows into a kitchen.

How do you like the Brinkman?

They prefer the really expensive cables.

I don’t know if you were asking me but coincidently I set my new to me Bardo with a Lyra Delos Saturday. I have never set up a cartridge before, but it went exceptionally well (there was sweat involved I admit). The setup was made easier I think, because of J. R. Boisclair’s (WallyTools) exceptional patience & willingness to share his knowledge. Additionally, I paid for the analysis of my cartridge so there was no guess work involved. The piece of mind from the Cartridge Analysis combined with the WallyTools gives me confidence knowing I set up my cartridge right the first time.

WAM is worth a look if you are looking for a well set up turntable cartridge. I have watched my dealer set up many TTs, but this time he watched me and genuinely seemed impressed.

I was indeed
My dealer has a Bardo set-up with a Koetsu Black (Gryphon Diablo 120, Wilson Sabrina X) I have long admired its build & sound…

I use Acoustical Systems SmarTractor but believe there are a few (at least) Wally Tools users here. There is a cartridge set-up thread or two here as well

I can only imagine the Diablo 120 driving Sabrina X’s is a wonderful sounding set-up. I have heard the Sabrina X’s with Pass mono blocks and a Pass XP-12 and enjoyed them immensely. Again it comes down to a proper sense of scale for a moderate sized listening space. Two systems I have heard briefly fit the bill more or less the Sabrina X, of which I know of one forum member who uses them, and the MBL Radialstrahler 126 driven by the N51 and an N31 CD player.

I was mistaken, It was a Diablo 300 with the Sabrina X’ and Bardo
Either way, sounds really good

That does appear to be a Diablo 300.

In rather good company as well with a stack of Luxman Integrated amps, and what looks to be a Luxman 95th anniversary integrated.

Baby Gryphon, Diablo 120.

Older sibling, Diablo 300.

I have seen the Diablo 300 in person. I have not heard it yet tho.

I love the aesthetic, super well built, love even the remote…

I mentioned in another thread, possibly when we we swooning over @Ronp new speakers, that I wasn’t enamored with the Sabrina’s until they wired them up to the Diablo

They had them all over the shop with Luxman, MAC in the “open” areas of the store and Esoteric/MSB in the upstairs listening rooms and I thought they were good but not great

When I heard them with the Diablo I couldn’t believe they were the same speakers the Gryphon just took control of them in a special way. They produced slam, finesse and detail. The synergy between the two components was just killer

Same here, at some point I’d like to hear one. For now the Luxman 509X is getting the job done in a convenient compact package. Currently mothballed for the summer season.
