…Sanders Magtech you say
Excellent amplifiers. I had them too
Very nice! One day I’ll have one.
I looked 'em up and read the specs.
They certainly look like potentially great performers. Current capacity aside, why are you enamored with them, if you don’t mind my asking?
I am always looking (consciously or not) for the next thing to add to my audition/“maybe?” list.
Cheers.
You are referring to my post reply right Scott?
They were the right tool for the job, when I had the Magnepan 20.7s.
…then I got the BHK 300’s and the BHK’s are a much more musical pair of amps with tons of current too.
I meant to solicit a response from @Chops, but you will do!
Thanks for the feedback. Were there any other attributes, beside the ability to drive the Magnepan’s, that you particularly enjoyed?
Regards.
What are powering with the Magtechs?
Here is one of my BHK 300’s with Audioquest Thunderbird Zero cable and it’s fed from the P20 via an Audioquest Hurricane HC power cable.
Very nice.
I am assuming you were listening to something you posted on the “Simply Blues” thread when you snapped this photo.
Darnit! You beat me by a few minutes. I was thinking the same thing!!!
That’s my blue ambience lights behind the electrostats. Lol
The BHK’s sit on stands right behind the panels.
Boiler Up Hammer Down! You, me an Galen.
Would love to hear those large ones, great!
Ha! Excellent.
Cheers.
Yes, dynamic scale, drive. They are a very neutral amplifier. One thing that I did notice was hiss when no music was playing, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.
I used Sanders own preamp as well. The speakers at the time were the Magnepan 20.7’s
You could do with a good central striker. I don’t suppose Arsenal fans are used to much change, even if they have the budget.
They are fantastic! Combined with the JL subs and the CR1 they make beautiful music together! I’m happy with the results!
Big +1 for Sanders ‘stats, and Magtech amps. These have been the most constant components in my system.
Just for the fact that those amps are specifically designed with magneplanar speakers in mind. They also have them specifically for electrostatics. That and the fact they’ve reviewed very well over the years.
