System Photos!

HOLY COW!!!

That’s a wow system.

Those BIG Cerwin Vega look-a-like speakers in that small loft must loosen many shingles on your roof when the volume is pumped up

Surely you jest, my good man!

Here’s quite a surprise. I’ve been struggling with acoustic feedback with sustained bass at higher volumes with the vinyl rig. My TT is mounted to a wall shelf that’s isolated from the main equipment rack. However, last night I tried tying the TT shelf to the rack and “problem solved”! I think this arrangement lowers the natural frequency and increases stiffness. In any case this zero cost solution is the business. Very pleased indeed.

What’s his name?

Edgar. When he’s on the amp, we like saying he’s “Eggs over easy”. LOL

Latest iteration of my modest system. My forever system? Most likely not, but have to say I’m very happy at the moment. One thing I’m most thrilled with is that I finally found speakers that sound really good with the PS Audio Stellar Strata. It’s been a bit of an ordeal for sure, but finally I have a the warm and rich sound sound that I was after. Plus, the DW6’s can really rock out when asked.

Zu Audio DW6 with Superfly upgrade speakers
Technics SL-1210GR turntable with Ortofion 2M Bronze cart.
Schiit Mani 2 phono stage
PS Audio Stellar Strata integrated
PS Audio DirectStream Memory SACD Transport
All Kimber and Audioquest speaker cables, interconnects and power cables
My listening room is a real challenge, but I think I’m finally getting the upper hand.

Been a while since I’ve posted here. New house, room and some new gear!

The more I hear about Zu, the more I want to hear a pair, they sound incredibly capable at a good price point.

I was the same, really curious. So glad I pulled the trigger. They like careful placement, but sound good just about anywhere. Its the bottom end that really captures my attention - solid and fast without being boomy even close to a corner.

Sounds perfect for me, I love a rich bottom end, and placement will be challenging as when I move it will be a relatively small room.

My room is 11 x 15 and the DW6’s are just right

The finish on those Dyn’s are impeccable!

Thanks. Really wanted the rosewood veneer, but they phased it out a few years ago. My last two pairs of Dyn’s were beautiful in rosewood. Luckily I’ve grown to love the grey oak

Looks great, and the speakers look really interesting
I do, when I see those speakers, immediately think of the Skutters from Red Dwarf too,
I can imagine them on wheels zipping about on their own (or at your command for remote control toe-in)

Anthony Gallo still sell the Strada 2. I use a pair for TV sound driven by an 80wpc amp. I also have a 10" Wharfedale sub (perfectly adequate for TV sound).
