Wow, big upgrade. Great speaker for the price. Comes with ARC if I recall too. Did you ditch the sub? or just move out of picture?
Oh boy!
Enjoy.
the ARC is for their 120 flagship. These speakers are second on their line-up. Yes subwoofer was sold. Very punchy bass with very good weight and attack. The quartz bases I had made, improved articulation dramatically and reduced floor interaction by a large amount as they are bottom ported. Truth be told, I bought the speakers for my wife for Valentine’s Day. She said no more speaker upgrades in this space haha. I bought the Atoll as the Denon decided to take a permanent nap. That was a large upgrade in sonics too.
Nice set-up, clean, lean and mean. Have yet to hear the Paradigm Founder series. How do they compare to the Persona?
Before settling to my Dynaudio speakers in my main listening system, I was keenly interested in the Persona 7F and 9H. They needed ‘audiophile grade’ music to sound great. Lesser recordings was hit and miss as their Beryllium tweeters and midrange are less forgiving of mediocre recordings. The Persona’s however are imaging and soundstage champions.
The Founder series allow one to play more music in one’s collection/playlist than the Persona’s IMO. When I am making a purchase of speakers, my wife always comes with me so we can collaborate on the decision process. She has great ears for listening.
I came to a similar conclusion regarding the Person 5F and 7F, and went in an entirely different direction. My initial impression was they were excellent, especially at the price. As you say champions in recreating a believable performance in its space. Extended listening sessions resulted in listener fatigue on my part. Too much of a good thing, the beryllium mid and tweeters were conspiring against me. I had a similar experience with the Floyd Toole Revel Salon 2 speakers. The Founders, on the other hand look to be an exceptional value, offering a more pleasant listening experience.
My successful integration of the Jim Fosgate designed Black Ice Audio F360 Preamp into the rest of my “stuff” via Three Little Bears.
I did a more detailed review in the DIY section of the forums.
Attaboy!
That’s not Mr B, So Mr M?
When I first saw this picture of your cat, this mental image/thought came to me:
“I don’t always listen to Solid-State amplifiers, but when I do…”
Mr E, actually… As in Mr Edgar. Who’s Mr M?
LOL!!!
“The World’s Most Interesting Cat”.
Bentley vs Mercedes? lol just messing around.
can’t figure out that if they are different vehicles, why do they look the same
As it seems the PS Audio AI has lost me I have had to sign up again, so thought to start with some system shots again
Ah, you’ve got the Blok Stax, I’ve got that too, although mine’s about half the size, lovely design
Super Cool!
What make and model are the subwoofers?
PS
Nice to see another PowerBase fan.
