Wohaaa!!! Coooooool!
Laugh out Loud!!!
Back a long time ago, I was reading @Paul s very interesting book and his writing about Genesis speakers caught my attention. A quick search on eBay and I secured a pair. Fun.
What a long strange trip it’s been.
I gave those to a friends college student son. He loves them. They are fun to listen to.
Still have my Genesis V’s and servo amp. Much fun indeed. They are now up for sale should anyone be interested. Purchased new from The Edge in Chicago. Play and sound as new, Brazilian rosewood in fine shape. Did I mention they are much fun!
What ever hapened to Ray?
No idea, I assume you are referring to Edge Audio’s Ray.
You moved the speakers further out into the room?
No same place. Maybe it’s an illusion.
That room does look cool, and I know it sounds “nice”.
Thanks. I may have moved them slightly closer after the Bacch incident.
That isn’t really the “Bacch” incident. It’s more of a “Stupid Al” incident.
Always loved you room, congrats!
Without “mistakes” we would have less progress. I see your strength more as an audio alchemist…
able to spin sonic gold out of silicon.
There was a stupid Paul incident so I still consider you a great friend and yes we can’t blame Bacch. It is a fine device!
Funny, I picture Al as more of a mad scientist (an organic chemist maybe) who likes to test the chemicals in his lab using touch, taste and smell.
Not the most quantitative (or safe) approach, but one can sure experience the world in this way.
Apropos of nothing(?): I read somewhere recently that Marie Curie’s tomb is lined with lead to protect the visiting public from radiation exposure because she managed to experience radiological materials (especially radium 226) up close and personal without regard to the properties of the materials she was experimenting with.
The lesson here…not sure there is one related to experimenting audiophiles…
But I’ll let you all decide.
I hope exposure to audio is less life threatening than exposure to radiation.
That’s what beryllium tweeters are for. Not only because they are poisonous, they are said to have good sound properties.
Yum beryllium.
