System Photos!

I thought you were selling all your PS Audio stuff. Couldn’t find a buyer?

Hi Michael,

Are they 12" woofers? I found driving each separately was worthwhile. I’m also running a DSP just on the bass to do the HP & LP filters, plus correction for specific room nodes (I have a main one at 34Hz) I can measure down to 15Hz in room…but not sure how accurate the mics are there! Using REW for analysis.

Not sure what you mean by “As you can see, there are a few more tweets on lol” ?

Good to know I’m not the only madman left in the world!

It was likely 1991. That Giant was one of the very first carbon frames to be brought to consumer mass market. And yeah, given the failure rates of glued carbon frames from that era, I would not race that thing down a mountain.

Well I can easily sell my PS audio equipment lol. But now PS audio has learned to live with my mistakes, so I have also learned to live with the mistakes PS audio has. I have to admit that my hero Paul is also only a man with faults and defects … quite like us

I had seen the socks against the nightscape, then you had to show the flashy socks.

Funny; I have dubbed these system photos as sock pics on other fora. My rejoinder is usually, “nice socks!”

Cheers.

OK. Well that seemed to be the implied context with the general direction of your post. And your point was what then?

LOL

Yes the new home-made bass towers are with 12 inch bass speakers in. I am not that wild anymore. For the last 6 months, I have given my great Infinity systems wiser to new young Infinity lovers. So I help with renovation. It hurts my heart. I’ve become so old that I listen to Radio lol 80 percent of the time. I have not so long left my life, so it was a good time to find good homes for speakers who have followed me since 1978.

they are super tweeter?..plus another above the original one?

Do you have experience with rebuilding the ribbons…I’m dreading the day one goes down! I’ve heard a few stories of improvements?

I am running 5 amps each side, driving each crossover section separately…though still with crossovers in place but not connected together any more…I’m tempted to build passive crossovers for before the amps (with about 1000x smaller components…air cored chokes etc) and remove the enormous ones between amp and ribbons…any thoughts?

What are you using with the 6 x 12" cabs?

It’s good to be mad…at least have passion!

Yes we have experience with that and we will probably make video etc when we are now renovating 1b. I haven’t tried Beta … but maybe Paul can help here or the groups that example are on Facebook. If you measure up on your betas you can see they have a little hassle with scattering at the top. Therefore, the extra tweeters lol. The measuring equipment you have is quite good. I have completely different options on the speaker factory lol
Here you can see a little about how to make mid tones and the principle is the same for the tweeters.https://www.facebook.com/michael.benneke/media_set?set=a.10209852729341296&type=3

Some custom-built D amplifiers are used from B and O … the same as PS audio uses in their just much larger. 2 x 1000 watts. You can see the set right on photo of beta.

We use this filter mixed

JeffofArabica, I agree with you in that the "“Jura Capresso” line of coffee machines are wonderful!
We have had ours for 16 years and to date it has produced almost 22,000 cups of coffee/espresso without a hiccup.
Our model is called the F-9, its been discontinued/upgraded but it still performs wonderfully.
All I can say is that it makes wonderful tasting coffee and I would never not have one in my coffee-drinking life. When it finally crashes, I will be racing out to the Kitchen store and replacing it right away.
here are a couple of pics of our unit that I drink coffee from while listening to my system. Note the number count on the head of the machine.!

It all started here when I as a young boy got my father’s HIFI facility. There were 4 active speakers from the same manufacturer. This is some days ago lol

Michael - I would be curious to know what you did to refurbish the Infinity Reference 2B speakers, in particular the crossovers; I have heard that upgrading the capacitors is a “must”, but frankly, the only thing I have done to them in 30+ years is to have the woofers re-coned and replaced one of the rear tweeters. Thanks, Jim

I’m very busy at the moment. There are a number of Hifi shows. RS 2 b will be completed in March. You must contact me late March. Then I want something martial about everything we do with these 2b. If you are on facebook you can at that time contact with my technician (Allan/Carsten). Since I’m just a wild boy and leaving such tasks to the specialists … lol

PS

I can tell you that probably in March there will be brand new dams on the market for mid tones and tweeters.

and you are welcome to contact me on facebook or at Michael.Benneke@bbsyd.dk

Sitting on JL f112’s, which is not where I would usually put them, but I’m dealing with Euro-space in my new apartment ; )

This room is more suited to 30.2’s or P3ESR’s, as these speakers love free space. But it’s not bad in any way : )

C’mon Daddy, get in, let’s go…

Wrong thread…but…not.
