Glad to see this fix. However, when playing my Oppo 205, with HDMI to I2S converter connected to my MK2, it just shows the input name without any bit rate. Before this update, it did show DSD 64 (albeit tiny font) when playing SACD’s. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?
I have the same issue with Oppo 205/converter box. My display would indicate DSD64 before the update…nothing now.
I can’t wait to do a firmware upgrade for the 1st time ever!
Can you avoid redoing inputs by answering no ?
Having trouble getting the firmware to be recognized. Have reformatted the thumb drive a number of ways and followed both sets of instructions (one with Paul’s first post here and one that came with the download). The MK2 never seems to perform the firmware upgrade and thus can’t go on to do the Massive installation. Need some help.
Thanks
My usb drive is formated fat32. I copied all the files to the root of the drive, so no folders when I click open the drive, I see only the files. Also the power of the DAC was be physically turned off before I inserted the drive. Just the front panel button isn’t enough. That worked for me.
With this release you need to check all of your UI options. In general, they were all reset to their defaults.
OK, got it. I found another drive that had not been reformatted and it worked. Either the first drive is faulty in some way, or the MK2 didn’t like the way my Mac mini formatted it. Anyway, got Massive installed and now the listening can begin!
Thanks
If your copying them on a Macintosh it must be formatted Fat32. I noticed i had to drag the files vs copy and paste for them to show up bold font and go through overwrite authorizations of previous massive files.
Installed the new massive tonight. All went fine. Can’t wait till the weekend to listen. I saw on one of the threads what the usb version should be. Anyone recall that? I can’t seem to find the post. Just double checking everything. Thanks!
3.02 is the correct usb load.
I noticed that with UI 3.10 load I have no indicator for wifi or the ethernet jack. When I looked for the network software id there was no network software present. Anyone see network software in the menu that lists massive and usb software?
I had also forgotten how my grounds were set.
Please keep in mind those settings are very dependent on your systems and cables. What worked well for me may not work so well for you. The best bet is to do your own experimentation, but here is what I found works best
I changed the ground lift on all of the inputs I was using (IS2 #2 and USB to lifted. Since I’m using RCA cables, I also changed the output ground to lifted as well.
Before the change, the soundstage was locked between the speakers and there was very little depth.
After this change, the soundstage is no longer locked between the speakers and the depth has improved too.
I don’t see any information about the network version in the versions display either. But, I never really took notice if version numbers were there before.
Installed fine but why is one of the files a Norton Instalation shortcut ?
This is what I see in the original .zip file that I downloaded from PS Audio. I don’t see any Norton file in there.
Yeah that’s what I have plus the Norton file, I do run Norton on this laptop but no idea why it would be there, anyone have an idea ? Assume I should remove it but Dac plays fine.
It won’t matter as the loader will not reference it anyway. Your anitvirus program must have put it where you found it.
Ted, good to have you back, you were missed. But you did great work while you were gone. Seems like every update, I think you can’t possibly do better. And then you do!
Using a Logitech, Elite Remote. Powering down the BHK Pre and if the MKII is off, it would power up the MKII. Now if I’m using HT bypass and DAC is off when powering down the BHK Pre, it doesn’t trigger the MKII power on, and I think that’s GREAT!
