PSA being the new kid on the block could be a deterrent factor for spending 11k…
It shouldn’t be. The FR20’s are nice. Really nice.
That’s why listening before buying is such a great idea…
Considering the on going sale… and unknown trade in potential. it’s even a harder proposition to buy used. I’m surprised PSA put these on sale so soon after introduction.
the FR20’s are also on sale, $4000 off and trade ins still good…
Ordered my FR20s on Oct 3 and just got the setup guide! Guess I can practice in the interim…
my setup guide arrived weeks before the speakers, they have an odd speaker shipping system…
At least I got inspired to clean out the half of the garage I plan to unbox them in. Now to work on a plan for placement!
Congratulations!
My most essential review (I haven’t heard any of your speakers myself yet unfortunately) is from a friend which I trust, with the most resolving setup I know which I hear quite often as a reference and for my choices, where distributors and other manufacturers go on pilgrimage. He certainly has ultra gear and has and had varying speakers there including large Wilsons etc.
He said the FR20, although maybe a bit smaller sounding than certain larger ones, have probably been the best he had there yet.
So congratulations again!
Congrats on the speakers!!
I’ve had the FR20 for 5 months now, and they keep getting better.
The seller is asking for a $2000 deposit toward shipping cost at the time of sale with an adjustment up or down once the actual cost is known. Could someone at PS Audio give an estimate of what it would cost to ship these from Phoenix, AZ to Lansing, MI? What shipping company do you use for these?
I just measured my FR20 boxes. The boxes are 22" x 26" x 57" for each speaker. The speakers weigh 133# each plus can assume another 7# for each box.
and they ship on a single pallet, I believe 300+ pounds…I’m also in Michigan…odd shipping system, they go the S Cal. first, then to a different company in Detroit where they sit for a week because they only go to your area once a week…I think PS must have a great deal since the speakers go 2,000 miles out of the way to get to you…
Yes. I forgot, they look like 2 refrigerators being delivered.
(and was so cool knowing they were speakers)
unfortunately the delivery company that brings them to your home doesn’t know they’re speakers and not a refrigerator or couch…
If you use a common carrier like Holland, FedEx Freight, Old Dominion or similar they will quote “residential lift gate pickup and delivery” costs to your door.
You will have to specify the insured amount before shipping. Some LTL shippers have a max. insurable load and others do not.
If they are securely fastened to the pallet you wont have any issues.
Do not use the fly by night cheap shippers. It’s not worth the difference in price.
I would estimate $1500.00 from Phoenix to Lansing insured for $11,000.00
The load would most likely take a week or so depending on route congestion.
Good to know, and a bit of a surprise.
I’m not so sure that shipping started in Colorado
shipping company told me they were picked up in Boulder…
