Joined in April 2018. Puts me at 6.
This forum has been wonderful though I am much poorer now but happy
I joined in February 2012. Mostly active over the last 6-8 months or so though.
I’m just a toddler.
Hey Murray,
That’s identical to mine! Maybe that’s the time they swapped over the forum hosting system? I vaguely recall there was changeover at some point.
Edit: Just caught up with posts after yours. I see others have already mentioned the changeovers.
We need @Elk and @Paul’s help at this point, to identify the true original founding date of the forum!
I’m really impressed by the story of this project and I have to underline how many people must be grateful to Paul and PS Audio, for having given us such a great opportunity to share our lives as audiophiles (and beyond) all this time.
Seven wonderful years for me…
Boy, that’s a great question for which I do not have an answer because I am what my wife likes to call, “calendar challenged” in which I become kind of clueless when it comes to dates.
To my memory we’ve hosted a forum for about as long as forums have been around, probably in some format since around 2,000.
Seems I joined nearly same time 8 days earlier. The mk1 Dac purchase brought me here hungry for better digital sound. A quest that never ends.
Mine was 8/9/2019 when I dipped my toes into the PS Audio line with the Stellar Stack.
Have since moved on to the MK 2 DAC and BHK PRE. I’m not much of an audiophile per se, but do enjoy my gear and this forum. The viewpoints, opinions and interests of this crew make it a very pleasant place to hang out.
Pretty sure it was 1999 @Paul. As I noted above, I recently stumbled on an email I sent on 1/2/2000 to a turntable distributor asking if the P300 would be compatible with the turntable. What I neglected to mention was that I said in the email that I intended to post the response on the PS Audio forum. So, unless the forum started on January 1 or 2 of 2000, it was certainly around in 1999.
As I posted above I joined in late July 1999 in response to Paul’s announcement of the new forum.
That sounds correct, thanks guys. Also, I cannot remember how many different types of forum software we used but I can remember at least three times where we changed it and mostly wiped out all the conversations that came before it in the process, promptly pissing off quite a number of folks. Sorry about that….like everything we do we’re always striving for better but better often comes at a cost.
