Theoretica Applied Physics BACCH

,

If you do get up to dance I’m not sure we want a camera tracking you.

Yes it’s the camera from theoretica. To add insult to injury, if it’s disconnected there is no sound! It has to connected AND switched off!

All cameras take hidden photos of you falling asleep listening to music. Theoretica Applied is a fake project, the real purpose behind it is a world-wide University study on the audiophile disease of dreaming about new gear while sleeping listening to music, easily detectable by facial expression!

One day the professor will find the cure to stop the upgrade fever, which will save thousands of audiophiles from financial ruin and the younger generations will finally approach this hobby.

And the world will be a better place!

Except for me and @dchang05, of course!

I’m taking the falling sleep during music therapy frequently. This is a good sign because it can only work when you’re totally satisfied with your music quality (instead of thinking about how should I improve the system more from next upgrade).

So, soon Luca will be all alone in the dark rabbit hole.

What!?? That is almost funny except it isn’t. What a silly routine to have to deal with. You can’t try a different cable, but perhaps there is a different port.

But you tried that first. Totally weird. I can send you another camera to try. I have two.

Or try any other USB cam, just for giggles.

Thank you Al, that is extremely kind. But I live in Kolkata, with India customs involved things get problematic. I suspect it’s a software issue…let’s see what Edgar has to say.

What I did want to mention was the last 36 hours.

When I got the MU2 my BACCH-SP adio was in the shop. I was using the MU1 to stream to my Bacch4Mac and using my new Tambaqui after that. I had an intense love affair with it. But when the MU2 arrived I immediately shipped it of to be sold. When the adio returned and I became aware that the MU2 could stream to the adio and play the digital output from it to the MU2 DAC I just did that. When the new Sakra arrived now I can hook up both. My preamp allows me to match levels so I can now switch from the MU2 to the adio DAC with a click. I made ORC/XTC filters for both. This would be the first time in 2024 I would hear the adio DAC.

Long story short, the adio DAC sounds incredible. It really has its own sound. I switched back and forth for awhile, but now I am sticking with the adio DAC. I have apologized to Edgar for my sin. I suppose if you have multiple DACs it can be fun to actually use them.

Don’t forget to apologize to all the MU2 owners. Lol

I would like to get an audiophile power supply for my RME ucx ii. Any suggestions please.

Thanks,

Robert

Time to upgrade. Thanks Al!

No way! DAC in MU2 is outstanding, and it is a keeper for a long time. I am sure Al will come to realize that MU2 is just as good. Actually, I don’t know what Aido DAC is.

The next time you upgrade is when Grimm MU3 shows up.

I have not had my MU2 for one full month, and is already outdated garbage.
I’d be lucky to get $50 for it, but I think I’ll just have to keep the MU2 instead, and suffer for a long, long time with it’s clean & open sound @dchang05

Yup, I am suffering too from way too much laughing and tears from happiness whenever I turned on MU2 :man_cartwheeling: :wine_glass:

Does the external SMPS for the RME UCX II supply 12V and 2A? There is a large variety of power supplies for this rating. RME itself recommends their SMPS. I have a spare Teddy Pardo LPS from a departed DAC around that would work too. This is in Germany though.

Thank you Sir. I wish that I was in Germany.

Okay, I had a friend and forum member over to the house today. First we listened to a CD, then a half an LP. Then streaming. For streaming we used the MU2 to play to the endpoint in the BACCH-SP adio. I was using the DAC in the adio. Bacch owners may notice that when someone hears the effects of Bacch for the first time it takes some getting used to. He was no different.

Later I switched to the MU2 streaming to the MU2. No Bacch. He strongly preferred that setup. Most likely because music sounded more like it does in his system than the way Bacch presents the music. I have a strong preference for Bacch. But it is an acquired taste.

How does the adio DAC sound when BACCH is defeated vs MU2?
