Further lightening of the RT continues. For those day rides I’ve now mounted this little Nelson-Rigg tail bag instead of the mammoth (and heavy) Givi tail truck.
2004 BMW 1150 RT (Has been in every continental state except South Carolina)
2009 BMW 1200 GS (Has been riden hard and put away wet in a variety of spots out west)
1997 HD Heritage Springer (A rolling piece of art that is most fun at speeds less than 50mph)
My buddys scooter
2009 KTM 400 XCW (A mountain bike with an engine, great for single track stuff in the woods)
Nice quiver of rides
I feel like I posted this before, but maybe to some other forum. Ahdunno.
Anyway, my 1981 SR500, long gone. (As is the 1972 BMW 2002tii.)
Anyone else watching MotoGP this year? The last two races have been insane.
Vinales (team) ignored Brembo advice on brakes for Styria MotoGP - knew something was up on lap 4 (brake fade) but kept racing to complete failure at lap 17. Not a good choice. Luckily no one was hit.
The Doctor says he didn’t see the bike that flew across his front end, nor of course the one that nearly clipped his rear end.
It has been an amazing season.
My wife and I like to ride places. We road 2000 miles from Connecticut to Tennessee and back in June. Where do you ride?
There are lots of roads here in the mountains of upper east Tn I ride on, you must have came down Sky Line Drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I’ve been on the Parkway many times as I live about 35 miles from it. Seems to me most of the time I get on the Parkway I get wet!
A little trip across the mountains.
It is a fun little jaunt.
BMW just added an M-series 1000RR to their sport bike line. Redlines at over 15,000 RPM. Added winglets to the fairing to improve downforce. Very nice.
I have an S1000RR, a nice machine.
The greatest improvement will probably be the new chain.
I have never been held back by the chain and sprockets.
I typically get 25,000+ miles on a set, with minimal maintenance.
The M1000RR has a lot of nice bits, especially in the engine.
