I don’t have a Bacch but I must recommend this latest release from Qobuz! Wow

Not available in my world. Searched and searched.

Update: I learned something new today. Paul became aware of this recording because he was using the Qobuz application, not Roon. I only use the Qobuz app on my phone, and not very often. I made the assumption that everything Qobuz offers is available when you use Roon. I learned this is not true. So that means I should start using the Qobuz app a bit more often. Hmmmm.

I bought a 24.192 version of this 7CD compilation from Qobuz. During that process I learned some new things I didn’t care for.

  1. Qobuz no longer allows you to download the entire album in one file. (like ZIP)
  2. Qobuz no longer offers different file formats, i.e. AIFF. Just FLAC and mp3.
  3. Qobuz FLAC files USE NO COMPRESSION. That means the FLAC should be as good as an AIFF. (Theoretically) (Whew!)

I miss the old ways said all the old guys including me.

If you consider …that even „flac-internally“ uncompressed flac files have to be “decompressed” to “native PCM format/size” by the streamer to be played (which has the size of AIF or wav), causing add. processor load which can cause add. noise…then not even theoretically.

So far what I understood (and heard) from even uncompressed Flac vs. AIF/wav comparisons.

If that’s under a level one wants to worry about is a valid personal decision.

Jose,

I gave this a spin but either the recording equipment or their effect generation, electronic music instruments, cabling or something else the noise floor is so high it became too disappointing to get past 30 second sof the second cut.

Rarely have I had this issue but bacch-dsp laid all its flaws bare.

wow I never would have thought of that. Even though it’s a record from about 30 years ago, in my head it was considered as having a “good sound”.

I’m sorry for what just happened. I will be able to previously test my recommendations before making you suffer again

All aboout the vocals, mouth harp, percussion and biting electric guitar notes.

Forgive me mow for a trip to Nashville. But good recordings stand on their own. The complete balance of everything in these two cuts is outstanding.

This is the first time I heard this in 3D. I always loved the 2 Channel depth of sound stage. The Bacch-dSP leaves it sucking wind and anemic.

John’s son just released an album in his Daddy’s footsteps. Imagine filling those song writing shoes?

Easily the best Dylan harmonica. Please find me one better.

This recording has a terrific sense of space - a great, you are their vibe and expansive soundstage.

I imagine it would sound great with a BACHH set up.

Most of you will HATE this. It’s a grower, or a grower was involved.

This will heal that:

And what about this? :

It must belong in the genre?

Nope. It defies genres.
