This album which I have as 24/96 is one of the best sounding ECM so that I just also ordered the vinyl. Great!
Had some all over the map listening today.
Started with Miles Davis, “Pangaea,” the Japanese LP facsimile 20 bit remaster from '96.
Then moved to Bob Dylan, “Blood on the Tracks,” Mobile Fidelity Lab SACD.
Followed by Wes Montgomery. “Full House” on DCC gold cd, sure haven’t heard that in a long time.
Moved to Stan Getz, “Getz a Go Go,” Verve Original cd.
And finished up with a new arrival from today’s mail delivery, “J.R. Monterose,” Blue Note Japan “24 bit by RVG” cd.
Yea! Another Rippingtons fan! This album is okay, but I really like their earlier albums like “Weekend In Monaco” and “Tourist In Paradise.” Just my opinion of course.
You could say I am a fan… these are just the CDs I have. My favorite is Côte d’Azur cause the bass, rythem, and Kashiwa w/ Russ is the bomb. However earlier with Dave Koz was amazing at the start in 1986, they were there at the start of smooth jazz.
This started it off in 86…
I have the Ripps first four albums on vinyl as well as cds. I’ve been looking for “Curves Ahead” on vinyl for years, but it’s a hard find. I must have 20 albums and I enjoy them all.
Ah, Pee Wee Marquette! For the right price he’d pronounce your name properly!
