I read the latest Copper magazine.
Thanks. Yes, spot-on. I am well aware of the history. Other members of that D&B and friends line up - Dave Mason and Bobby Keys… Keys played sax on the stones albums and toured extensively with them for the last ‘100’ years…
Thanks for the info. I didn’t know the albums were available new or that they had been reissued. I bought all my ones back in the 80s when they were first released…
I don’t have the originals with which to compare. The reissues are quite recent and Dave Stewart supervised. He is quoted as saying the remasters are from the original half-inch tapes, not the compressed digital remasters. The high-res files also sound very good (resolution varies from 44-24 to 192-24, depending on the album, as I recall).
Leo Bud Welch released his first album in 2014 at the tender age of 82. The ten tracks that make up “The Angels in Heaven Done Signed My Name” were recorded in 2015, and the album was just released last week (it is on TIDAL in MQA format). Sadly, Welch passed away in December 2017 at the age of 85.
This ones pretty good too.
An old favorite I had forgotten about.
Steve Miller Band session tonight.
Just finished playing this album… This album sounds fantastic on the black stuff…!
Another vinyl devotee PM’d me wanting me to post on another thread about vinyl in the digital age! Trust me, it is much more fun playing the music than talking about different formats…
Last one tonight - it’s getting late here…
Love this album!
Allan Holdsworth reportedly hated this album, both because of the rehearsal nature of the performance and the lack of compensation for him and the band. If no one received royalties, that is wrong. But that issue aside, the lineup is great and the playing is pretty stellar. Recommended for Holdsworth fanatics and completists.
Beethoven pieces from the Complete Beaux Arts Trio box set. In my newly set up living room audio-visual system. I got my second Decware ZROCK2 in today and put my original one (without the 25th Anniversary Mods the new one has) into this system and this is the first time I have listened without fidgeting and wishing the sound was deeper and warmer. Now like Goldilock’s porridge it is just right. I love these ZROCK2s.
