The movie was controversial and disliked by critics but I think it’s among Jerry Goldsmith’s finest scores.
New on Qobuz. 24/96. I was slightly disappointed by this album. It was a triple-register harpsichord and, whilst the tone was good, the recording quality was not exceptional. I posted this yesterday - the vinyl albums and since discovered xrcd double CDs. I had forgotten about this CD! Playing it just now and it sounds ‘very good’ on the DMP / DS but, vinyl is the real deal! Scale, impact, gravitas and the sense of occasion with vinyl is simply on another level.
