What Are You Spinning Right Now? (Mk. 2)

That is an easy recording to go on the favorites list

Awesome show from the legendary August 1975 ten-show run at NYC’s Bottom Line that preceded the release of “Born to Run.” Not the best sound quality, but well worth a listen, in part for the 20-minute “E-Street Shuffle” that includes a classic 10-minute intro rap by Bruce. Should still be available for a free/lossless FLAC download here. And here are some great pictures from the Bottom Line concert run.

Favorite of mine. Used to listen to it a lot in our design studio in the architectural school. That was ages ago but still one of my favorites.

Recorded at the Capitol Theatre, Passaic, New Jersey, September 19, 1978. Best Springsteen concert ever? It is arguably among the five or so shows that could lay claim to the crown.

Another excellent release from the ACT label. A symbiosis of classical and jazz.

More harpsichord from Qobuz at 24/96. This time the material, performance and sound quality are all excellent.

This continues to kill me. I’m on Fire, take me Higher, I’m on Fire…

…and yeah I suppose part of it is that it surprises me. Cooler than you would have expected from her to this point, but not when you consider she’s Q’s kid. EDIT: a few have pointed out that she is in fact Ravi Shankar’s daughter (mom is named Jones). I think Q was producing her at some point, so I assumed. Prolly wrong about that as well :man_shrugging:t2:

Actually my fave (as a former Chicagoan) is the Song With No Name with Jeff Tweedy.

This one was recorded the night after the legendary 9/19/1978 Capitol Theatre show I posted earlier today. This 9/20/1978 show, which is available for purchase in various download resolutions on the official Live Bruce Springsteen website, comes from the multi-track reels, which were transferred and restored by Jamie Howarth, Plangent Processes, mixed by Bob Clearmountain, and mastered by Jon Altschiller. The sound quality of the 24-bit, 48kHz FLAC download is incredible (for a 1978 rock concert, anyway). The performance is excellent, of course, although perhaps a notch below the epic night before.
