My introduction to Guy Clark was picking up one of his albums from the $1 bin at a new defunct record chain on my lunch hour about 20 years ago
Still grateful I chanced upon it and him

Impressive sounds
Did you hear about this release? Worth a listen for any fan
New on Qobuz. 24/96. It is difficult for me to think of the 7th as a symphony, since I associate the music with the 1948 film about Scott. This makes it seem more dramatic than much of Vaughan Williams other work. Unfortunately it is early morning here and I have to play at a volume which does not do the music justice.
Good choice… You’ve started early today…! Are you going out to tear up some fields and woodlands on your bike…?
The Vaughan Williams cycle with Manze and the RLPO is just stunning in my opinion.
The RLPO will be recording and releasing a full Mahler cycle this and next year with Petrenko. The next year or orchestral music is bright to say the least!!!
No, that happens tomorrow.
Heinichen had his ‘breakthrough’ with Musica Antiqua Koln’s Dresden Concerti in 1993. This was the ‘follow up’ album from the same year. If I was presented with his music without any knowledge of the composer I would probably guess Handel. A well performed and agreeable album.
Oh - yes I do like Guy Clark, I have several of his albums including the two on one disc you posted! I will post a few others. Old No 1 is a particular favourite, his first and possibly his best album…
Another CD I play regularly. Loads of guest artists: Peter Rowan, Arlo Guthrie, Tom Waits, Emmylou, Nanci Griffith, Guy Clark, John Prine, etc…
More Heinichen from the usual suspects. This was well enough done, but choral music is not really to my taste.
Another NOLA artist. You can see him at the Spotted Cat (greatest live music venue I’ve ever been to). Believe he lives in The Bywater (two neighborhoods downriver from the quarter)…
