I miss Telarc…

I do as well.
Solo Bob from 1993. Covers of some very, very old American tunes. Wonderful album!

I love that one, and “Good As I Been To You.”
Right now, one of my favorite singers, his latest.

Miles Davis “Nefertiti” Sony Blu-Spec CD2

Heremeto Pascoal & Big Band “De Natureza Universal” Wow this one grows on me more and more. Fascinating music.

That’s a rare one!
Truly? It is 30 years old, but he has many older albums. And he is still with us.
I find it a bit difficult to wrap my head around his playing. It is more about notes/sounds, than harmonic structure - at least from what I have heard. Great textures.
Yes, it’s rare, I’ve never seen a CD copy and the few around go for bigger bucks than I’ll spend.
I first encountered him working with Miles Davis in a brief but fruitful studio session, then with Airto and Flora Purim, then sought out albums of his own. He’s an eccentric player and composer, but he’s extremely talented–he can play almost anything and he has his own ideas of sound and texture as you note (but then to a certain extend so do self-taught I, so maybe that’s why it’s not an issue for me). I’m a big fan.
Thanks! Neat bit of background.
Back from a rehearsal and now listening to:
Light, melodic, playful. Wonderful sound.
Goldberg!
