Marantz SA-10, one of the best. All sources converted to DSD.

Hey Paul172…you are so right…but guess what…
Much of my music is now on a high speed read thumb drive…

Lazy fellow here doesn’t like getting up and ambling over to
my 205 to change discs…

My music purchases are mainly from downloads and then to my
thumb drive…so easy to view contents from tablet app…and
modify dac settings speaker trims, speaker distances and numerous other
goodies…really is a top notch player…

Thanks friend

The SA-10 is “new to me” recently. So far I’m very pleased. I was on the fence about trading in for a new PW SACD but went this way instead…at least for now.

I rip the discs to the Roon Nucleus HD. Occasionally usually when I first purchase the album I’ll listen to the disc then it’s digital file time!

Paul while thinking of Roon…for me it seemed odd that
I would have to pay Roon a subscription after purchasing Roon
enable gear in order to upload and then access what already belongs
to me by way of purchase (the cd)…

Perhaps b/c “old school fashioned” Roon just doesn’t make sense to me…
You can take the boy out of the country…but you can’t take the country out
of the boy…

Jest let me have my ole thumbdrive…

Thanks paul172

PST, SACDs sound super as expected; but I would be remiss in not mentioning the huge performance in Redbook playback. I never expected the huge increased sonics. I like the Redbook results so much that I am setting up 50 to 90 track playlists on 8 USB drives for individual track listening. I still like to spin albums but enjoy the flexibility of not getting up to change CDs.

Not trying to sell a PST, just reporting.

I’m using an Oppo 105D as a transport connected to a Bryston BDA3 via. HDMI.

I believe there is a little bit more differences between the two. I think the SA-10 has a slightly larger power supply and I’m sure the capacitors have been upgraded. But the major difference is balanced output of the SA-10 which is something I wish I had!

How do you like the CD-S1000? I have heard the redbook SQ isn’t so good.

I’d say it’s fine. Well built. 33 lbs I think. Does it sound absolutely amazing? No, not really. But I didn’t feel like spending more on an SACD player. I do Tidal streaming 95%. CD 5%.

Considered the Arcam and if I’d have upsized would have gone marantz sa-30n

But for what I paid I can’t really complain - does what I need it to

Thanks for sharing this. I have never considered getting separate DAC and transport. Is the PST the transport or the DAC?

I wish PS Audio made an all-in-one SACD player.

OK, thanks. If I only did CD 5%, I’d go with the CD-S300. It’s a great little unit.
