Oppo 205…but I use a flash drive installed in one of my Oppo’s 3
usb ports…sacds also ripped to flash…easier to use with the
Oppo 20x media controller app…How I wish PS Audio would
create a media controller like Oppo did…
The cds and sacds ripped to flash delivers outstanding sound.
Considered buying a dedicated SACD-Player for a long time, but my Aurender plays dsf-files so wonderful from his internal HDD and with the Matrix in between it goes native to the DSD. So I decided to rip physical SACDs to dsf like this and buy dsf-downloads if available. So no need for a SACD Player!
Paul172…Im using a SanDisk “high speed” 120 mbs/sec
read usb flash. It was the fastest available when I got my Oppo.
My reason for getting the fastest available was to ensure
fast enough read times to prevent a bottleneck that could
limit the quality of throughput and in turn the music.
Today’s flash drives are probably much faster…
While I cannot explain this phenomena…often times after
transfering the music file to my flash drive…initially the
soiund may be yuck…however…putting the same file on repeat
play overnight “fixes the issue”, sometimes longer . Many times what was an apparent sonic disaster… like a caterpillar to butterfly
transformation in sq…the sq becomes spectacular to my ears
anyway.
I use a Oppo BDP-95 and a Oppo UDP-205 and I use those mainly because I think there is no point with SACD in just 2 channels and I get my music i DSD and not in PCM…yes, and my third point is because they’re so cheap for what you get.
