What to put under the AirLens?

Tonight I was thinking about getting some new footers for my PST. This in turn got me to thinking about my AirLens, which has been sitting directly on top of my DS Mk2. The AirLens is so small and light that conventional footers don’t seem appropriate. What sorts of things — if any – have people used between the AirLens and another component? Did it make a difference?

I use Herbie’s Tenderfeet underneath and a Synergistic Research Tranquility Pod Carbon on top…

How do you find the SR Tranquility Pod to impact performance?

Sincerely, yours.

I am slowly using these throughout my system–really like the presentation they deliver.

I use IsoAcoustics Orea Graphite’s under my Airlens. They definitely make a difference with improving the sound. In fact, my whole system has various IsoAcoustic’s products underneath them, because of how much I like their impact on the sound and even video performance.

I have two sets of four AUVA EQs coming my way to compare versus the Isoacoustics under my AGD Gran Vivaces…

I now have five Tranquility Pods in my system. I find them to lower the noise floor for greater unforced detail and an enhanced sense of presence, increase soundstage size in all directions, add bass extension and improve dynamic contrasts…

Thank you.

If I had the budget to try just one of these, which type of kit would you suggest benefits the most from these.?

Thank you, again.

Thank you for mentioning Herbie’s. A long time ago I bought some of his products and may have a set of Tenderfeet buried in a box – I’ll go look. They would probably work well under the AirLens along with some weight on the top.

Thanks for all the replies. I also ordered a set of AUVA EQs. I was planning to try them under my PST but can also experiment using them under the AirLens.

I located the Tenderfeet and put three of them under the AirLens. I also found a weight to put on the top; the heavy power cord wanted to pull up one corner of the AirLens without it. (I don’t have anything like a Tranquillity Pod.) Things sound a bit cleaner and smoother – not a huge difference, but worthwhile, particularly since I didn’t have to buy anything! I might try a Shakti Air Stone on the AirLens.

For Stack EQ I suggest using lower weigh inserts. They work better for sources in my system.

Definitely follow the weight guidelines.

What are you referring to? I was following up Re: the SR gizmos.

Cheers.

Oh, I was talking about Stack Audio stuff, never mind.
