Lots of poorly performed cover tunes and bad sonics … hence the album title. Still, it managed to come in at #50 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 50 Greatest Live Albums of All Time. (Not sure I agree with the RS ranking, but this is arguably one of the best album titles of all time!)

As I see this I’m listening on my local commercial free FM station to a terrific 2 hour program devoted entirely to John Lennon. Retrospective from the beginning to the far too sudden; far too violent end.

That album, or more accurately their version of “Radiation Vibe,” is what prompted me to explore Fountains of Wayne, whom I had only known through “Stacy’s Mom.” I’ll be forever grateful, and forever pissed at COVID-19.
