My appreciation for this one deepens.

My appreciation for this one deepens.

I listen more and more for Pascoal’s contributions, he was both wild and (for him) in control on these sides.

Got the Japanese SHM-CD of the new Cassandra Wilson album (Billie Holiday tribute so to speak) in the mail. It comes out in the US next month.
Very intersting. The producer says “The result is a whole new experience for the listener, both those familiar with Cassandra and newcomers.” That’s very true. A swampy and spacey production. But I like it.

2014 Japanese SHM-CD

Doing some assessing of Pike’s Peak and new cables and I always get around to Crescent when I’m doing this sort of thing, as I’ve loved this music since the mid-seventies. This is the early 21st Century K2 remaster from Japan.

The new Japanese SHM-CD reissue.

The new SHM-CD. This 75th anniversary series from Japan is the way to go for Blue Note on Redbook. Hardly a single one has proven to be less than a significant improvement over the previous cd issues.

An old favorite, in a new reissue (24 bit SHM-CD from Japan).

Over the years I’ve gone from “Oscar Peterson . . . ho hum. . .” to “Oscar Peterson. . . yeah!”

The fantastic reissue by International Phonography

New this week. I like it.
