Using Ikea’s Kallax system with box inserts/crates to hold the albums. Currently have around 20 boxes. The Techdas 3 is spinning vinyl.
What an awesome looking setup. I’ll bet there aren’t many that sound that good. Congrats on the improvements.
@Paul had a post recently talking about asymmetric rooms and the advantages of better bass interaction with a larger space. I was originally worried that the right side venting of the mid and high frequencies would create an imbalance. I can set up a temporary diffusion panel on the right side to get symmetry on the right for the mid and high frequencies. However, I have found that it does not make a huge difference to the listening experience. I wish I had higher ceilings, but I am not complaining. Getting fatter during the winter listening to music.
My room is not even close to what the experts would like to see. I sit at one end of a 28’ x 14’ x 11’ room facing the 28’ long wall. There is an open kitchen around one corner and a hallway behind me. There are windows on both 14’ walls and along the 28’ wall. No treatments per se allowed although there is plenty of furniture to work with and drapes on the windows. I was worried about being at one end of the room facing the long wall but it really hasn’t been a problem that I can tell.
I am new enough at all of the “audiophile” stuff that it is still exciting to me but the system also sounds pretty darn good to me as is. Once we get back to that house I am going to fuss around with some EQ software (Acourate) but mostly for an exercise. I did some work with REW but never could get any results that I liked.
What a fun hobby.
What finish did you get?
Nice!
I don’t know if I could have waited long enough to take a photo!
Congratulations my friend! Now begins the 200,000,000,000 hour break-in period.
Great Job Matt! It looks awesome!
Haha I believe that´s true for ocxo clocks and stuff, these should be fine in just half of that
Was a bit worried of this color but it looks really nice now instead of the usual black. No sleep tonight mode is on !
Somebody must have been a very good boy this year. All nice, no naughty. Sweet.
Those speakers rock. Enjoy!
My God, they’re pretty! Loving the white.
