Your Next Upgrade? (Part 1)

They build great racks.

They are a really nice family owned company. They actually sent me samples of different stains to choose from. Looking forward to receiving it.

Same situation here. The work bit; not the speakers.

Worth the wait, and quite happy with mine.

Next will be upgrading from DS JR to the new MKII that is coming out or the new Airlens/Streamer coming out. Probably both but not sure in which order though.

I’ve been toying with the idea of building my own, based on their designs. But even the wood alone will be expensive, and I’ve got about a half-dozen other woodshop projects that are in line ahead of it, including a couple that my wife has been waiting patiently for.

Hi,
Not planning on going into a full review, which is better left to people who, you know, can write!
I do however want to share some initial thoughts since I hooked up the V10’s Saturday morning

No question in my mind that they are a system level upgrade of a significant nature
The sound is holographic, open and detailed (great low level detail as well) with extended frequency range and provide a wonderfully smooth mid-range. I’m not a bass head but I can attest to very controlled, tight/punchy base lines that keeps the enthusiastic toe-tapping going

My system has never sounded so good…period! Like the proverbial veil being lifted, a goofy smile has been plastered on my face since I wired them in

Cable “believer” or not if the opportunity arises everyone should wire a pair of these bad boys in and you may just become a convert if not already in the cables matter (a lot) camp

I realize these are new to me and that I very well may be biased but adding these cables has been nothing short of transformative in my system. That pretty much wraps up my opinion, I absolutely adore them!

Best,
-JP

I breathe a sigh of relief. Then again at the price you got these at it was more like paying the shipping costs only. :grinning:

It’s great that they please you! Congrats!

Yeah, I told you these particular cables history. They are absolutely in mint condition and yes, I got a killer deal from a very cool individual to boot

I see a pair for sale from Canada that claim to be V10’s but are Black/Blue stripe? was that a prototype color perhaps? I know some original Dreams were different colors but thought the V10’s and after were white/tan or white/grey I am probably way off base

I knew something very special was happening from the first track, they produce all the good stuff and more, perfect fit for my system…

Best,
-JP

There are no other cables that give a more holographic image than the Stealth Dream series, not even Dragon. The combination of the two is dream-like which has done wonderful things to my system.

Are the ones from Canada for sale power cords? They make black with different colored strips for power cords. The designated colors are made for amps, digital, analog, and preamp as I remembered (I could be wrong on this).

PC have different stripes based on intended purpose
Lots of variations I’m finding…

Some might know, good deep bass performance changes everything to the better. A combination of measures, which you won’t forget, I can recommend from my own experience during Covid time:

Use better power cabling

Dial in sub config and adjustment as exactly as possible (supported by measurements)

Use Isoacoustics Gaia under the sub. It improves extremely, you can turn up the level more without having any boomy or too strong bass, but gain much ambiance retrieval and bass quality as well as midrange ease.

The isolation for speakers and subs is quite room and system dependent. I currently do not have isolation on my speakers or six pack subs and don’t suffer from bloated bass. In fact, I prefer the more visceral impact of the bass hits with the speakers firmly planted on the floor. The Townsend isolation platforms are now underneath my amplifiers and equipment rack.

I thought about building my own also until I realized I would just mess it up and get totally frustrated LOL. If your good with building things you should go for it Craig it would be so satisfying.

This upgrade has been a little over a year in the making so it isn’t recent. About a year and a half ago I thought about making a venting hole between my living room and bedroom to allow some bass to bleed out of the living room. The hole became a complete removal of a Murphy bed, cabinetry, and a wall. The room has essentially doubled in size 35x38ft with 8 ft ceilings. My one bedroom condo is now a studio and it sounds a lot better and more open. Confirms that the room is essentially the speaker you sit in. I am single. I am not sure how many with a domestic partner would be allowed to do this. It does make for better listening. The pictures are in reverse chronological order.

Perfectly logical thing to do. And I must admire your taste–nice looking place.

I’ve only had my Audience Front Row PC powering my DSD since this morning. It replaced their model one down. I’m floored at the full range improvement, especially all aspects of the bass.

Thank-you for sharing. Nice lay-out comfortable, great view and then there is the sound. Do you have a separate storage space for your vinyl? Hopefully your TechDas is on the mend.
