Your Next Upgrade? (Part 1)

AQ Dragon interest me as well. I almost pull the trigger on a Dragon HC that was on sale to replace my WyWire Diamond Digital power cord that is currently on my DAC right now. But I think I’ll just wait and get another Galileo when I get the MKII DAC, since I already know what Galileo’s are capable of.

Um, the bar could not be set any lower.

And I would send you a Stealth to try but one time when I did that 200 million Tuning Rings posts followed.

Lesson learned.

The difference is smaller compared to other top quality power cords, that’s why I like to make the reference to stock cords.
Thanks, but no thanks. I don’t want to get involve with Tuning Rings. But I did almost pull the trigger on a Dream V.18 that was also on sale just to find out what Stealth was all about. Maybe if the opportunity arise again, I just might. But those Tuning Rings…

That is just funny. We cannot buy the topline Stealth, but the rings work too! It’s a cheap thrill :man_dancing:

I believe the tuning rings in the Stealth are magnetic, not the much loved 3M substance. But if the 3M substance ring brings audible sound benefits, it’s a win!

When George at Kyomi Audio was faced with buying 10 Stealth Power Cables for his new MBL Reference system that includes MBL Extremes and 4 MBL Reference amplifiers, he specifically requested no tuning rings. It is an option. They tested and matched, and re-made, tested and matched all ten of them before sending them to him. The fact that assembling a cable sometimes results in failure is one of the reasons they cost as much as they do.

Yikes, 10! What would ten Stealth Power Cables sell for----to us mere mortals?
(I just ordered an upgrade DC motor and power supply for my LP-12 and I feel nuts doing it. But the cable price might make me feel–less nuts)

Didn’t you lend your Stealth to @Vmax to compare to his Dragons? I didn’t pick up on the details. Maybe he can chime in, or maybe not, we don’t want to start that Tuning thing again.

He is in love with his Whisper Elite now, I am not sure I want to trust him . Just like I have preference towards AQ Dragon.

Put some 3m AB7050HF tuning ring here on the P20 1.75 inch width.on Dragon with a home depot rebar cable stand and about a 1/4 inch sorbothane. And one index finger back from the back of iec input on P20. Listen to everything open up. As @dchang05

Al lent me his digital stealfh. It is excellent on digital it slayed all on digital never tried high power one. The elite whisper is on par with the Dragon with Tuning rings on both. Except my Whisper elite never had a C-19. That causes system shut downs. The Drago with or without tuning rings is a fine cable. With it is world class. So are and whisper eliite. The stealth Would hang with them or dust them if high current. I do not doubt.

The Galileo cable magic is a tuning ring with a power supply. These cables are not black magic but the sellers pitch them as as such. I hope you are using the magic box on all theses cables. If not your due for an awakening when you do.

My daughter and her husband dropped by for some grilled teriyaki ribeye. One of my secret recipes i season and use a mallet on steaks . Then marinate with three different teriyaki sauces and fresh ginger. I let her and her husband choose music. We experienced some Master of Puppets Metallica at 1,2KW. Damn that high powrer was only 15 or 20 seconds it was intense. Though i prefer 12 watts. I must say OMG. These amps dig the depths m, preamp at 65 for 1,2KW. . I set preamp limits at 70 to keep peaks low enough to not damage speakers.

I still miss my Iconoclast Preamp to amp ICs but until retermination. The mogami golds will still give a decent rock concert

The sellers has to say something to sell their cables and it’s usually in languages no one can understand. Cables of this caliber all have their strong points. It’s a matter of matching it to your system. The cable is warmed up in my system right now and my system has never sounded this good. The fullness and startling powerful transients are so lifelike! There are definitely synergy here. I am still not using the magic box, the separate ground from the shield are plugged directly to the wall outlet for now. Eventually I will get around to it I suppose.

You’re doing your Headbanging thing again with your new amps? You have to be careful you don’t blow out your tweeters like my friend does very often when he goes a little crazy at times.

You spent so much on cables. Biy the magic box Al sent ne a SR cable that needed the magic box. I didn’t have one so I did not review it. I tried it everywhere I couldn’t.

Get in in the same zip code. I can only imagine what the 2 K box does. Might take some creative connections. But I am sure your due for a whole new experience.

The magic box you’re taking about, is it not the SR Galileo PowerCell SX?

I have 48 tweeters. The speakers are rated for 1200 wpc. They are just waking up. I worry more about woofers. I did fry two tweeters on my XRT20 driving them with MC2500 bridged for 1000 wpc. . The power guard on McIntosh amps keep one from clipping. I am thinking those XRT20 tweeters got clipped by a Kenwood amp previously used by owner, I purchase from. My XR290s.Tweeters cut out when over driven. When the thermistors cool down the tweeters kick back in. Experience on my previous amps playing Led Zeppelin Whole lotta Love. Yeah tweeters die but come roaring back in. Roger Russell the speaker had acid test. Played them an entire weekend on 1200 watts rated power or any speakers he designed to their rated power. . If all drivers survived he declared them ready for service. If not. He went back to drawing board. See his website if you doubt. A true engineer’s engineer. He even went so far as putting light bulbs in his iDS-25 circuits to bleed off excess current. Since his drivers were full range.
