I received my Pre to Amplifier Iconoclast Gen2 UPOCC ICs reclocked XLR connectors for my new MC1.25KW monoblocks with with perfect fit

I am ecstatic to say they are almost same basic sound signature as the MC1000. Just quieter noise floor and better images and bass perfect in every aspect. Never too much but reaches down in the basement. .The rich mids and fleshed out bass was missing with the Mogami Gold temporary ICs is now back in spades with my Iconoclast back . The iconoclast play every genre well as I was accustomed with the old school 1st generation monoblocks.

The 1.25KWs run cooler with bigger heatsinks capacitors and Thermaltrak transistors and Yes they do sound better I am now just waiting on two reworked Whisper Power Cables to Duncan’s latest recipe. After I get them integrated back into the system….,

Then I can start my DS Lundahl transformer VCOM mods once my new best yet baseline system has truly settled. Or perhaps the series 2 Iconoclast SPTPC will be shipping first.

Right now it is best I have heard gIving me more of an effortless everything. Every detail and ease of listening, with no sonic fatigue or harshness anywhere. Just true balance.

It just shows how important cable set up is and a system can only be as good as its weakest link.

Thanks Luca,

I was surely left scratching my head the first few days. It is hard to abandon familiar amps that serve so well. The good part is they new amps are performing better than any store demos I heard. My old amps always laid the store demos low. ButI always felt it was setup’s holding the other systems back. Then to discover that was true. The amp comparison on Audio Excellence 1.25kW against D’Agostino monoblocks made me believe there was more. Then then Jay picking them over a couple of the lower gryphon stereo amps in a ATL stereo store when they were paired with SF Aida2, led me to spend dollars. My speakers I knew could perform with Aida 2 given live demos with music I knew. My system was better than a store demo with 1.25KW amps powering these SF special edition speakers back in July of 2021. Archivi Edge Portfolio - Sonus faber /the-sonus-faber/

Don’t get me wrong a tweak chance at those would be a setup dream.

I know I am not at a plateau having new amps

Great Speakers (I’m a SF owner too) and great amps! Happy for you. The taste of food cooked in your own home is always better than the one served at the restaurant, when you know what you are doing (we use to say in Italy!).

Got the 10 inch adaptor from degritter since I start collecting some 10 inch records. It works;

I have had my Degritter for 5 weeks now and it is so much better than my Auto Desk Glass cleaner. Really enjoying it!

Better Cables, “Blue Truth ULTRA Audiophile Balanced XLR Cables” arrived today.

Sensible, low cost packaging/shipment approach (no charge for shipping BTW):

First cut from the familiar tracks/“demo” play list:

Too soon to have any early impressions.

I own the NAD C658 pre amp, that perfectly fits the C298 Purifi power amp.A-D and D-A conversion (needed for DIRAC room correction) can be bridged. Obviously DIRAC is disabled that way. The C658 is a analog device with MM phono (RCA), and RCA line inputs, it has XLR outputs and you can add a analog I put module for XLR input. What it offers even more, Optical and RCA digital input, very good streaming system (BluOS) with ethernet and WiFi input. HDMI arc input.
The NAD C658 sounds wonderful, even Dirac enabled. I love it. It’s the most versatile pre amp at high quality.

I trust the Degritter is worth every penny. Great concept.

Thanks for the feedback. The Degritter seems to be a great concept. It looks more effective and less messy to use compared to the cleaners that clean records horizontally.
I am truly consider buying one and start cleaning my records. This is the first time I am convinced that wet cleaning records actually is effective.

I have the degritter since May and have completed close to 700 runs, no single issue. I do not keep water in degritter for more than 3 days. While draining the water, also have the filter cleaned / dried. When not in use for period of days, I would drain the water completely and let it dry (filter plug not installed). I am considering getting 2nd tank and try out the cleaning fluid + rinse process.

Yeah but it doesn’t have xlr input

Looks like I won and no mice for last few days!

On another note this was funny

If you buy the analog module it has, NAD does not advertise that module, but it does exist, check the dealer.

My last upgrade has me gobsmacked every time I listen.
As I was telling Vince in a text, I need a new hobby, I have solved Audio.
Took me long enough.

It’s really cool that you found what you were looking for even though you didn’t know exactly what it was when you started looking. Your journey has been fun to watch and we all learned a thing or two.
Time to enjoy the music.
