It’s quite the opposite of the Rega!
At least considering the “record player per pound”, it’s definitely cheap!
Good to know Steven.
Thanks for the info Steven. I will research that Shelly unit. I was very disappointed at the noise the dimmers introduced. They were not cheap and were a PITA to install (3 side to side).
Cheers!
Three pairs of Townshend F1 fractal (1.5 m each) to connect my sources → pre → power amp.
They’re replacing 3 XLR pairs of AudioQuest Water. My expectations are high. Fingers crossed.
Edit: I’ve run these cables for less than 20 hours. The best word to describe them is “transformational”. They changed my system (positively) in every possible way. The highs are fully extended but calm without being grainy. The bass is fully extended but without muddiness or distortion. Sound stage is bigger deeper and players are clearly positioned. The addition of these cables made a larger impact on my system than any single component did. They elevated the enjoyment of my music playback like never before. Not only do they bring the instrument to life, but also bring the recording venue ambience. I am now tempted to get Townshend’s F1 Fractal speaker cables!
It’s a real shame they all got too old to continue, as Jelco and the various brands they made arms for almost became an industry standard. A Reed 3P replaced an Origin Live Illustrious as my Arm No.1 and the OL replaced the Jelco as Arm No. 2. OL is arguably not an upgrade on Jelco, although the OL has continuous silver wiring.
I’d put my SME Type II Improved on first. I know a guy who has a Soundsmith Hyperion MK2 on his shelf. I’d reach for that. But I already have three turntables so this isn’t something I am going to do. But I so want to!
Another one that is an opposite of the Rega. Anybody have a little extra change?
I am not even sure I can call this thing a beauty. ![]()
I just paid off my mortgage, I supposed I could start another mortgage, but my wife will not allow me to buy any LPs anymore (after I got rid of them a decade ago). This thing may give her nightmare too, it looks like a creature from a sifi horror movie. ![]()
I would but my Bugatti’s need tune-ups. ![]()
Is this on your short list?
That thing is absurd.
Finally received shipping status on my MKII that I ordered in January. Should be here Saturday!
Where do you put the rekkid?

Oh you don’t play records with that thing. It’s just for show.
“I got nothing useful in my pants, but look at this here MONSTER!!”
(Oh wait, I have a really large amplifier)
Good luck. I sincerely hope the technical issue, if it arises, isn’t fried electronics. No way I’d bypass the actual physical fuse with a slug. Too risky for my liking. Hope to hear only positive things from your experience and no smoke coming out of your amp surprises. Out of curiosity, what are the warranty implications using this box and bypassing the fuse in the equipment as designed for its protection? Anyone know?
