I know myself: I’d probably get checked into a hospital for the very very very nervous, trying to get those tuning rings right.
I do not appreciate them at all.
Tuning rings are strange. The sound they produce and improve is consistent in power cables. After a while you get used to their location specific to tipe sound.
I never considered that an analog speaker cable would need them. @aangen is the tuning ring on the LF speaker cable or the HF cable of a biwire set? Given Galen Gareis found better performance using more higher gauge wires on HF, I could perhaps see only needing tuning rings on one or the other of a biwire set.
A Corinthian styled post support might give the traps a nice pedestal look.
I need new glasses - I was convinced that display said “screen smEll”…
No dealer install, and dialing it in?
I just installed it. First album was Blue Train–stereo version.
I know that cartridges need break-in time but from the first groove I clearly heard where my money went. Beyond what I expected.
I received both Dragon Source and Crystal Clear Magnum Opus II power cords, but I have not listen to any yet (doing break in for a few days). I will start with CCII first since I am not familiar with its sound at all. Hopefully it is worth the cost!
@Vmax as you might guess I have two separate cables to each speaker. Each Dream 18’s. The bass cables are tuner free, the high and mid cables have the tuners. I need two trustworthy people to move the tuners at the same time while I listen. That is very unlikely to happen as no one wants to come here and listen to my system. They are afraid my condition is contagious.
Nice platform to support that piece of art that functions as an outstanding TT
All you need is a 15 second roon song snippet and move each tuning ring same distance and direction then relisten and repeat. You could nail it in15 minutes. Now I will have to try a homemade pair on HF leg of series 2.
Ah but it is better to use minions - every self-respecting volcano-lair owning HiFi nut needs minions
Any initial impression?
It looks fantastic.
Last night I listened to music for hours, late late night I mean and now I have a hard day on work. Is it enough?
The VTL Pre came this past Sunday. On Monday, eight espresso passed my lips.
I feel your pain!
