I agree this one is really priced way too high. But I have heard improvements moving from Blue to Orange to Purple, it’s not as if there are no improvements. I never really settled into Orange and Purple was a relief when it was installed. I’m not buying this new one though. Too many other things to buy right now.
I really hated the way they priced it, but my curiosity might win out in the end. I might end up trying it for 20 days. Worst case I burn another 600 bucks but get a slightly better sound. Best case, I know it isn’t for me.
I think SR are taking a leaf out of QSA’s book, some of their fuses sell for thousands.
I certainly noticed a substantial jump in performance going from the Orange to the Purple.
I presume SR has fully tested these new Master fuses and can justify the price, at least to themselves.
We still have our 30 day return policy with SR, if we don’t think they are worth it.
Here we go again… New SR Master Fuse (~$600)
Nvm then. I will let @Elk do his thing.
great video
mountains of gear behind him (mostly McIntosh)…and he holds up a tiny tiny fuse
I never understand demonstrating high-end sound on youtube
Their accessories are such that they’re not having to do the same acoustical treatment as in the PSA rooms.
There is already a thread on the new SR Master fuse in the Accessories and Tweaks section.
Do we need two?
It’s been taken care of, we may continue here.
Thanks Elk!
Hey waymanchen…keep us posted hope you try one out…
Thanks
Best wshes
waymanchen promised he will try one and gives us an evaluation. I recommend to start with the generator since if I get one, this is the only place that I may have it. But M-1 is doing an excellent job already. I don’t know, I hope it sucks!
Naw y don’t oh let me see ah the motive then is …any improvement in sq may be desireble and then … we winds up getting one …
Best wishes
Due to MK II characteristics and sensitivity I would also try the new fuse on this DAC, with beneficial effects both for streaming and playing CDs, where I would use a Purple to counter balance all, just my thoughts.
The sad truth is I’m a sucker for any tweak that doesn’t suck. Either I have sensitive ears or I have a malfunctioning brain.
Seems like Cable Company has the SR Master fuse available now so I just ordered one to try on my P20 first. If it’s beats my other fuses, I’ll get one for my MK2 DAC next.
Me thinks me beat you to it…
Saw that I had a bunch of rewards points on cc …to
pay a good chunk of the bill…
Soooo just as curiosity had to be investigated…right?
And just like some good ole folk round this here joint me hads
to give it try…for my P15…
Should arrive soon
Best wishes ya’ll
I knew I had to stay away from the forum for a while! “Don’t buy it, don’t buy it” I’m repeating to myself… guess what? I will wait until the first member can attest it is a game changer, a step up and a different animal compared to M-1, able to elevate sound quality to a higher level never heard before!
I’m afraid no more than 2 weeks!
Nice! please let us know how much it sucks and is a waste of money. I know I am kidding, If I hear one phrase like “it is better than”, then it is like I am boarding on a Borg ship and want to be assimilated willingly.
Know what you exactly you mean…but having a little play $$ on the side helped…
more than likely this fuse in my P15 should bring the overall sq up a couple of notches,
which in my system will be very very noticeable.
The fuse is still by far cheaper than an upscale set of cables…
The hard part is to refrain from reporting until the fuse gets some run time ( 2 minutes
right ) and then rattle off my findings…
Oh well and so it goes…
Best wishes to my tweaker buddies…
