Yes
thereās two parts to the update on the AL. 3.0.0 is the firmware for the unit, 4.4.37 is the streaming module firmware.
This will be the last time I attempt an update with this device. You built a wonderful streamer PS Audio, but you sure made it absurdly difficult to perform a simple update. The video is confusing as the host has dip switch 7 being switched up twice, so something is missing in between. I was able to perform the first part successfully as was described, but I have no idea about the second part, because the unit didnāt react the way the host stated it should. There is no way for me to even confirm if the unit was actually updated. My MConnect app does not have any firmware info listed for the Airlens, nor does it have an option for performing that function. A screenshot shared by another user has an MConnect screen Iāve never even seen before. Unless a future update has some glorious improvement to the sound or functionality, Iāll be skipping the hassle.
The app to view and update the AL streaming fw is mconnect control.
Thank you!
I have an Airlens coming and am planning to use mconnect on an ipad, though I have little idea what Iām doing.
Am I understanding correctly that I need to download the mconnect Player App to control the AL and update the AL firmware to 3.0.0 and download the mconnect Control App to update the streaming module firmware to 4.4.37?
You will not need the Player.
On iPad Mini 6 I am running mconnectControl HD which handle playing and 4.4.37 firmware. The Menu on the App Info page has a link to the Conversdigital users guide.
67Checker is correct. I use mconnectControl HD on my iPad Air and have successfully updated the streaming portion of the firmware from within this app. The HD version is designed to be used in landscape mode on the iPadās larger screen (as opposed to an iPhone).
Many thanks 67Checker and magister. I appreciate your help.
MconnectControl will only update the streaming firmware. It wonāt update the PSAudio firmware to 3.0.0. For that, you will either need to follow the USB thumb drive update instructions, or the instructions for updating the same over ethernet or wifi.
Good luck with your update. Mine went smooth as silk
Thank you for the clarification. Iāll hope for the best. Iām looking forward to hopefully hearing an improvement over my current BS Vault.
I am experiencing my first glitch with the AirLens, which has otherwise performed flawlessly 'til now.
I updated to the latest firmware without incident two weeks or so ago.
Before I left for the holidays a few days ago, the AirLens stopped showing up on my network as an available device and upon inspection I found the LED indicator to be flashing yellow while powered on. Several reboots (including unplugging the power cable) have failed to get the unit back on line.
Anyone have any suggestions or a similar recent experience and a cure for what ails meā¦?
TIA
Take the whole network chain down to the and including the router and re-boot again.
Iāll give that a tryā¦
Well, that did the trick.
I feel a bit sheepish. Thatās usually my first thought/thing to try, but the blinking yellow LED through me off and I was thinking the boot up cycle had gotten fudged up somehow.
Best regards.
