Airlens v2.7.0 and CDM 4.3.95 - Now Live!

I downloaded the USB firmware zip from the link provided. I see that this does not include the CDM 4.3.95, so I will do that through mConnect – is that right? (Holding the AirLens upright behind the rack, so I can see the lights, while trying to keep cables from falling out just does not work in my setup.)

While waiting for the forthcoming Qobuz Connect, you can use mConnect to stream from Qobuz (assuming you have a Qobuz account) – that’s what I do. mConnect is a pain for playing local files, but the Qobuz piece does work.

Last I heard, Qobuz connect was scheduled by the end of 2023… I’m guessing that isn’t going to happen.

We suggest doing the CDM through the OTA/OTI/over network update with the dip switches.

67checker quoted the correct procedure for doing an update of Streamer/CDM firmware from the AirLens. DIP7 down, 15sec WPS, then DIP7 up.
Updating the AirLens firmware is the same process with DIP7 up. You can also update AirLens firmware via a USB stick and has to be done that way if your AirLens is inoperable with a flashing orange status LED.

A factory reset also requires DIP7 down but it’s slightly different to a Streamer update in that you do it during boot up.

These procedures are described in the manual.

You are correct! Thanks for pointing that out, my bad. Somehow I missed updating the streamer in the manual. I’ve updated it twice now through MConnect and thought of that as the way to do it. I will edit my post

Hi all,

Down and up are confusing because depending on the orientation of the airlens to the reader up and down can have different meanings. I’m pretty sure I saw an on or off indicator on the dip switch somewhere. I recommend you use the words on and off instead of down and up.

Folks: here’s my Roon Audio info following ethernet update (which worked!):

I get the v2.7.0 (good) but not sure if v4.3.67 correct. Am I not expecting v4.3.95???

Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave, Here’s what I see:

FWIW, I did a USB install yesterday …

Thanks! I’ll do a USB load now and see if that is the remedy.

Dave

Tried the USB bin load and got the same Roon Audio result

Even the Roon RAAT SDK version is older than the version that @dnmaca sees.

At a loss of what to do.

Dave

I used mConnect for the streamer update. In terms of the RAAT, I would echo earlier responders with “try again”.

I have found the AirLens to be somewhat frustrating in that things don’t always work the same way each time you try. Hopefully 2.7.0 will be better in that regard.

@dnmaca : Using USB bin loads in both cases I reverted back to 2.6.2 (loaded fine) then upgraded to 2.7.0 (loaded fine) BUT still get old RAAT and CDM versions.

May try support on Monday.

Thanks again, Dave

I would try mConnect for the CDM. I thought that the RAAT update came with 2.7.0, so I’m at a loss on that one. Have you tried restarting everything?

Or, if you have access to 'em. you could try the dip switch method of updating the CDM. I expect Tech Support will ask you about that.

I would still like to know if that procedure works.

I will try these things this morning and report back

Thanks, Dave

Folks: Tried doing all firmware updates again (OTA and USB) but get the same results:

Support is my next move.

Thanks, Dave

@daveboyd Can’t see above if you’ve yet attempted a firmware update via the mcontrol app.

This is how I (and others here) completed all the updates including ConverseDigital to 4.3.95
