Audio Magic Masterpiece M-1 Fuses

That’s the power supply I’m using on the analog board on the dsd.

6.3A
Short
Slow Blow
This the Audio Magic Masterpiece M-1 fuse I put in my P12. The original fuse is a 5A Short Slow Blow.

They really respond to power cables Fuses negatively in some sense i have one with toroidal supply. It sounded considerably not as good until I realized it had the 240 volt smaller fuse. It is now closer to R Core.using same cables.

AMR makes good 13A fuses.

Hi all. A little help please. Just received my M1 King, along with a dose of Covid. I’m vaxxed and boosted. My brain is also fuzzier than usual. I have a P5 sitting around.
Could I put the new M1 into the P5, put a load on it, and use that as a break in device? Rather than waiting for it to break in on the system in the P15? Load would not be an audio load, because I can’t get to any of my stuff in my current state. Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.
And what’s worse, I’m so stuffed up, I can’t hear my music.

Completely fine Approach if P5 has varying output demand.

I would put the fuse in the P-15.
I suspect that the current flowing through the fuse does not vary that much.
High current protection in the P-15 is from a 15 amp circuit breaker.

Sorry to hear that. I hope for you a speed recovery. Don’t know the P5, I owned only the P12 and use now a P20. Good luck!

I just got my replacement M1. I am 100% sure I did not blow that one. It was DOA. This one went in just like the last and the P20 powered up right away. Gave a super quick listen, only thing I could say is the image sounded deeper behind the speakers. But I had to stop. No time. So its running roon radio on mute hoping that doing that for 24 hours should give me a decent % burn in so I can try tomorrow again. Glad it was nothing I did. Highend-electronics was super supportive and easy exchange.

You know the P20 doesn’t benefit from music actually playing to break in I hope. Just leave it powered up.

My M1’s arrived today from the USPS. The jewel boxes that tumbled out of a non descriptive box looked like a trip to Jared’s to cover up some major wrong-doing or to woo way to many chicks. Anyhow, to make this a fair evaluation, the baseline is that there is an M1 in the P20, and I will be replacing Purples with M1 in the PST, DAC, and BHKpre, in that order. The M1 is loaded with the “v”of the letter pointing towards the unit. Initial impressions of the fuse only in the PST is that it has the same sonic signature as in the P20… more body in the mids with
more easily defined instrument placement and a bit more air in the top. We will see if this comfort blanket is cumulative or smothers me.

Does anyone know if the fuse in the P20 affects the high current outlets? The high current outlets are all that I am using and just to power my Pass XA160.8’s. (one P20 per amp)
I dont want to spend my allowance on a super-duper fuse if it will have no bearing on the SQ.
Thanks

Happy cake day Al. May you have many more !!!
