Bridge 2.5?

That was my thought too - does PS Audio look to slide in the Bridge 2, into the carrier, or rely on others to make the bridge cards and then provide the external connector (the bridge box) which quietens things down…

Seems like a lot of effort to just house the old Bridge 2 card, compared to making the carrier just a bit more adaptable so it can house the newer Converse “bridges” that can do DSD256, PCM384 and MQA unfolding to 384 (and which will probably allow upgrades in future years).

Update, The Holo Red has landed after its UK tour. Wow, what a device the SQ is better than any streamer I have heard up to now. Bass is so sharp and deep may have to change subwoofer settings !!.Sounds better than my DMP playing standard cd. Some achievement for the price. One happy bunny :rabbit:

What other streamers are you comparing it to? Also were those streamers in same DAC?

Auralic g1, bridge2, node 2i, Innuos, and naim atom, and yes all DSD mk1

Any of the others to the MKII? I am in market now that Airlens is probably a while out. Thinking Lumin U2 with ext LPS

Yep, my thoughts exactly in the post I wrote about my impressions.

My Lumin T2 with the dual ES9038PRO is stellar. But this guy plus the DSD Mk 1 was actually sonically nicer for me. I was quite impressed considering its price.

Does the Red use an LPS?

No it doesn’t.

Internal LPS so no need and adding LPS to the Lumin voids the warranty.

BTW, I’m thinking of selling my Lumin T2. (In case you’re interested.) It’s the same as the U2 plus a DAC.

internal LPS in the Holo Red? That’s what @brian.fitterman was referring to

Yes, it’s visible in the photos

How do the updates work with the Red? easy? hard? do they come over the net or do you have to load on the card manually?

Maybe I’m dumb, but I don’t see which picture you’re speaking of. But their specs sheet doesn’t say anything about an internal LPS.

I think you have to load a card manually.

After reading they call the supply inside LPS.

Manual updates not liking

The poster references this, but it appears that image is no longer on the web page:
