Direct Stream DAC Dropout

My Direct Stream DAC just stops playing. My Eversolo streamer keeps streaming the the tune but there’s no output from the Direct Stream. I’m using a USB but I also have the same problem using a coaxial connector. I have had this problem with two of my Direct Stream DACs.

I have to reboot the DAC to get it started again. It will play to the end of the next song and that’s it it’ll stop

Help! Anybody out there have the same problem? If anybody from PS audio is seeing this please advise?

Hey!

Just a few questions… First, Have you power cycled the unit yet? It may seem simple, but unplugging and leaving it unplugged for a few min and then reattaching sometimes fixes those issues. If you’re using coax, what cable are you using? Is it a higher quality audio coax? Same goes for the USB.

Are you connected to Wifi on the eversolo? or are you hardwired in ethernet?

If your DSD DAC has a bridge, have you tried streaming to that yet?

I mentioned that I powered it down and it will work for a short time. I don’t however want to have to keep turning it off and on after each song. The streamer is hard wired and I have very high quality USB and coax. I don’t have a bridge.

There has to be someone who knows about this?

Is the Eversolo a common denominator with both DACs? The fact that the Eversolo shows as still playing does not mean it is making contact with the DAC. It’s just showing the progress of the stream. Also is this stoppage with Tidal, Qobuz or your library?

Yes.,.the Eversolo is a common denominator.

There is an indicator that shows there is a connection between the two units

just to check. Did you just switch the unit off on the back? or did you completely unplug it?

Sometimes the complete unplug will do the trick

Hi Jack,
I turned it off with the switch in the back, and then back on. It works again…but that doesn’t stop it from failing again ,either immediately, or in an hour or 15 minutes. It is unpredictable.
It should just work without constantly started.

If you reach out to service@psaudio.com we can set up a time to have some in depth troubleshooting with you over the phone.

When you are through listening for the night turn it off at the back and pull the plug, Leave it that way until morning.

I switch the power strip off. Is that ok?

Should be.

Please let us know if it works any better today.
