Looking forward to beta testing the MK2. I’ll be comparing it to the Cary Audio DMS-800PV DAC/Streamer. Hopefully I’ll get the FedEx shipment notice soon.

Literally 1.5 hours after being told the MKII that I ordered would ship out sometime in the next couple of weeks I get a shipping notification. Boy, what a relief. It’s scheduled for Saturday.

First time beta testing with the MKll and looking forward to comparing to the SGCD. My system sounds glorious and can’t imagine it sounding better.

What kind of credit does PSA give for trading the SGCD? You’re going from basic transportation to highly tuned sports car exotica. Better buckle in well put on some shades and prepare yourself for mashing that pedal the first time.

One interesting thing about the Mark II is that the fuse is accessible on the rear of the unit. If that is the only fuse that is a big advantage over the Mark I!

My unit shipped today and is scheduled for delivery this Sunday! I will finally find out what the talk is all about with this MKII. I really don’t expect it to be much better than my XS4400 modified MKI, the modified MKI is so incredibly sounding already!

It is always better to have low expectations that turn into jubilation when the Mk2 blows the modified mk1 out of the water.

Please be critical… we’re talking about $8k vs <$4k here maybe even less than $3k considering the price drops…

I’m not in as big of a hurry to upgrade to the DSD MKII as I was with the PST. A big motivating factor of wanting to upgrade from the DMP to the PST, was I didn’t want to risk ending up with an expensive paper weight due to the fact that the transport mechanism for the DMP was no longer available. The icing on the cake was an improvement in SQ, although it wasn’t earth shattering.
Presently I’m thoroughly enjoying the sound of the DSD MKI in my system, and in no rush to upgrade. If I was to be tempted, the DSD MKII would have to be a monumental upgrade, impossible to resist.

The implied assumption is that with all of the semiconductor and other parts shortages (how many times did Ted have to re-jigger the MK II because of this) that the parts and spare boards needed to do a potential repair of a MK I are still out there . . . .

FedEx just postponed my delivery from today to tomorrow. It is in Sacramento and this stop has a bad record of delivery on time.
