If you mean that numbers are shifted -1 in html code it's because it starts at 0 (filter 1)

You need to save it as HTML and then use a standard editor, e.g. Word.
Right-click the command field and then select 'Edit hyperlink'
Make sure to save it after all edits are done and then run it.

@gordon - frode’s guide is correct, i would just suggest to use some kind of plain text editor which will save the file as plain text.

You can use search and replace function to search for 192.168.0.52 and replace it all with ip of your bridge at once, then just save and you are there :slight_smile:

I have done a simple IP control for the PWD in Roomie tonight.

I will use a slider for the latter (I believe this is an uPnP command)

My first draft for the PWD control.

Hopefully the virtual remote can in time be replaced with an emulated Remote from library for increased usability.

Anyway, it gets the job done and does it well!

No, it is not a web browser app.
I build it in Roomie and I am using the web commands that maniac parsed (taken from valer_valer open source code). It works just like a normal remote but it is on your iPad instead.
I will work with Roomie to get it into the library. Then it will look a lot more professional (ref. picture below).
IMO, this should be made available on the PSA web, for others to use with their IP controllers, like other professional companies do. This would even save PSA some grief since they are struggling with the iDevice controls. This could be done in parallel with their work to implement these controls on their web interface (which in my mind doesn't give you the same feel). When implemented correctly, the PWD would show up in Roomie as an uPnP device and when selected all controls immediatly becomes available. There are no programming involved for the user. The normal way of doing it is to make a virtual Remote like the one shown below (I need a new picture) where the functions just work right out of the box.
The downside is that you may need to pay license for the iController software (e.g. Roomie, iRule, etc.) and it may not go on all platforms (IOS, Android, Windows, etc.).

Sure, I can check this with Roomie and ask them what is needed.
Roomie clearly stick out from the competition, IMO.

There are two approaches;
1) Do it entirely by ourselves (SDK)
2) Organize the required prerequisites and let the Roomie guys take care of the rest

In the mean time, here is the procedure (from faq):

<'How can I get my favorite device added to your direct IP list of supported devices?'
Many factors go into determining which devices we support natively. Depending on the device, most are fairly easy to add and we add new devices very regularly. First, it is important to note that essentially all home theater equipment is supported by the Roomie Service available via In App Purchase when used with a compatible adapter such as the iTach Flex available in our store. Yet, the industry is very slowly (probably to be measured in decades) moving away from infrared so we offer the option to buy Roomie at a lower price without such support (ensuring we have the highest quality infrared library is very involved and we want to make sure that doesn’t get passed along unless you need it).

The advantages of direct IP support for some or all of your devices include:

More reliable command handling than is sometimes possible especially compared to line of sight infrared which is a classically hopeless scenario. The infrared adapters sold in our store for use with Roomie do not require line of sight to your devices.
Two-way communication in many cases allowing feedback on screen from Receivers, Blu-ray players, Roku, and other devices like TiVo DVRs.
Direct IP support often reveals commands that simply were not made available via infrared by the manuacturer. The list of such special commands is very long.
Back to the original question, the primary decision for us is based on the expected user experience. Some devices such as Samsung Smart TVs can’t be turned on via IP control but can be controlled well over IP once the TV is on. We’ve introduced direct IP support for Internet-enabled Samsung TVs in Roomie because of strong user demand despite that fact. If a device appears on our IP compatibility list, you can assume that exact device or one from the same family is physically tested on a regular basis with Roomie.

The existence of an Ethernet port on a piece of home theater equipment does not mean it can be controlled via direct IP. The manufacturer must explicitly enable such support. Some manufacturers have been exceptional at doing so – Yamaha and Pioneer are current stand outs (yet, the same rule applies as Pioneer just a few years ago included Ethernet ports without IP control such as the SC-25.) TiVo was an early leader, but it has been many years since they’ve made any public updates to their protocol. Some companies are just beginning to get the message now and their implementations are at best beta quality. Sony falls into that category by wrapping their very old binary Serial protocol into HTTP.

The secondary major issue is simply whether we have access to the device or have strong contact with a beta tester who can verify functionality regularly on supported hardware. If we haven’t verified device compatibility, we can’t release it. It also usually requires brief testing against the device itself in order to add Auto Discovery, and we try to make sure every direct IP device we support has Auto Discovery.

Meanwhile, it is also possible to add support for virtually any IP or Serial device to Roomie without going through Roomie Support, but that requires of course a much higher level of technical skill. See this FAQ item for more information.

'Is it possible to add support for a specific infrared, direct IP, or Serial device?'
Yes for Serial and direct IP, and assuming you have upgraded Roomie via In App Purchase with the Roomie Service then yes for infrared as well; however, you should be aware that it can be a somewhat technical process. In some cases especially for newer devices that we intend to add to Roomie’s main library, contacting Support may be helpful as we may already be working on a particular device or we may perform some of the work for you. We often add commands on the fly without requiring a new version to be released as our device library automatically updates so it’s possible for us to add necessary commands without long delays if we can verify them.

If you have infrared codes for your device in either ‘Pronto’ flat format (each code usually begins with ’0000′), or in Global Caché format (each code begins with a frequency number usually close to “38000″), you may provide them to Roomie via the “RoomieCodes.plist” file. Including such a file in your iTunes File Sharing directory for Roomie, or in the Roomie folder of your Dropbox account before using the Restore Configuration command in Roomie will cause Roomie to import all enclosed commands. It is even possible to override the commands in Roomie’s internal database with your own commands by matching the brand, model, and make of the device you want to update.

The Roomie DDK shows how to construct custom command additions. The format is identical to Apple’s plist format derivative of XML thus allowing you to use many widely available tools to edit such files.

It is also possible to add support for direct IP or Serial devices. This uses the exact same process as the infrared codes above and examples for this are also provided in the DDK. If you are adding devices that Roomie doesn’t know how to Auto Discover, you will also need to add the device via Manual IP in Roomie’s device editor.

@frode Sorry being that unresponsive for the time passing since your answer to me - but work has really pushed me away. Thank you very much for that very good tip. However, I’m using an external remote control for starting my equipment and I’m using the iPad for JRemote. Maybe I could write a scrip prio to start JRemote - and that would work - I will give it a try and let you know but still I would prefer to have the direct IR code - and I’m quite shure that this could exist or that it could easily being integratet to the PWD (even if it is not available on the remote control).

@maniac same as to Frode - sorry for being unresponsive. I use static IP-addresses for all the audio equipment involved in my chain. I can see all covers on the PWD except if they have strange resolutions like f.e 501x498 …

I think when people discovers what can be done here, they will be amazed.

I will bring you some examples later tonight of things done.

Some of it I think outperforms the Crestron big$ gear at low investments.

Ok, here is an example of the abilities of Roomie;

1) Add Device from IP discovery list? - YES

2) Assign Activity to it? - YES (Living Room)

3) Use original Remote? - YES



To configure these activities on my iPad takes less than a minute.

Based on the selection under item#1 (left hand picture), the original remote is picked from device library (middle picture). All IR commands from the original remote is now available on the virtual remote, but as IP commands opposed to IR commands. The actions and feedback are immediate.

The picture to the right is a picture taken of my original remote by my cell phone, for comparison.

A virtual version (automatic or manually configured) is also to your disposal.



So, now you can judge by yourselves whether this is the future of home automation or not…



For the units with no IP control I use GC iTach IP to serial or an L5 Remote learning IR eye on my iPad (supported by Roomie).

I am blown away. The last remote like this I used was from Logitech. It was a programable touch screen and it never worked right. It was really awful. This looks much more intuitive and advanced. I’ll be quite curious to watch the progress here.
