Does an AC Regenerator actually work?

I’m not sure that the tester actually appreciates the full benefits of an AC regenerator. He seems to put AC regenerators and conditioners in the same category. IMO, the more important benefit that an AC regenerator (like a P12) provides over ‘just’ conditioning is its ability to supply low-impedance, tightly controlled voltage to the components plugged into it. That is, minimizing voltage ‘sag’ during transient demands particularly by a power amplifier. In my experience (I have two, older generation, P10s, each powering a 650W monoblock), low-impedance, tightly controlled output voltage provides a more noticeable improvement in SQ than does a regenerator’s conditioning capabilities.

Quite a different presentation than the ones that come out of ASR!
