Roger that.
Would you go Innuos or Lumin ?

Would you go Innuos or Lumin ?
My bridge II card works fine and I don’t have knowledge of the other two devices you mentioned.
As to service along with dealer and user support it would depend on where you live. Both fine units with great reputations. If you don’t need storage and are happy with your DAC the Lumin U series has the most output options.
On my DSjr streaming over the bridge II, I get small infrequent ticks only with DSD. They seem to be less frequent with 3.6.17 than with 3.6.2. Almost like a static tick when listening to an album. Only noticeable with quiet classical music. I get no ticks with PCM, even PCM formats that consume 2X the bandwidth of DSD64. It’s clearly not a bandwidth issue. It’s something related to how the Bridge handles DSD streaming.
With both 3.6.17 and 3.6.2, I get small ticks/pops when changing audio formats or sometimes going between tracks within the same format.
3.6.17 has a known bug with Roon streaming hi-res PCM. If you pause a track, restart it, then pause it again, you will get a very loud scratchy tweeter-blowing pop when Roon terminates the stream (about 2 or 3 seconds after hitting pause.). A similar pop will happen when you restart and the bridge stays this way until you flush it out with some CD-res PCM. This only occurs with hi-res PCM on 3.6.17.
All of the above are easily reproducible and there is no excuse to wait this long for a fix. Regardless of who manufactures the Bridge II, PSA’s name is on the bezel.
So pick the bridge bug that affects you the least. I’m running 3.6.2 right now. Please report it to support so they can track it.
Thank you for your reply.
I reported but they offer to downgrade the bridge version.Hence the reason I asked my initial question. This is going too far for too long. I mean what’s the point to work every year on a new OS when you are not able to fix bugs? I would expect different from PS Audio
That seems a bit harsh to suggest we don’t care about Bridge II customers anymore. It’s certainly not the case nor is it the case we’re not working on fixing issues with the product. As you know, the product is based on a third party module from Converse and
it takes time to get therm to fix problems when they arise. We are working on it.
Paul - please stop using Converse as a scape-goat - your company’s name is on the bezel. Also, many of these issues have been reported for months/year+ and/or have had regressions across multiple firmware versions which points to a lack of QA testing on the part of both companies. The support response from your company has been excellent but it doesn’t seem like they have been enabled to provide any solutions. I do appreciate you standing by your products. Thank you.
Yes Paul, saying that you care about customer support is different than actually do it.
Sorry Paul !
Happy Easter to all PS Audio company !
Someone from PS Audio care to fix this old problem with static noise over pcm ?
One of our software engineers has been testing a new Bridge II firmware that seems to fix the static noise over PCM problem you and others have mentioned.
This afternoon I’ll be bringing a DSD and Bridge II with the new firmware up to the sales area to test things out with the sales and service team.
If all goes well and we can verify that the problem has been solved, then hopefully we’ll be able to launch this new firmware soon.
Finally… Let’s hope for good.
Thanks
Good news.
How about the well documented ticks in dsd files through bridge 2?
Update? I’m on the edge of spending $2000 on a Lumin. With my luck, I’ll buy it, then PSA will finally have a fix. LOL
Are you going to buy a U1 Mini?
Looking that way. I’m tired of waiting for a fix on the bridge.
Kyle
The Lumin’s are great streamers and the members over at the AudioShark forum and Peter the lead software engineer are always available to answer any questions. Also the app is constantly being updated whenever Peter finds an issue. Tweek Geek has free shipping don’t know about Kevin. Also Mike the owner of the AudioShark forum is also a Lumin and a PSA dealer.
Thanks, Kevin will give me a break on price and ship free.
The only problem is that the bridge is the only streamer that gives full MQA functionality.
You can always find Peter (wklie) active on the Roon Community forums.
