Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition

If you sell the Red member Colindshots is looking for one to replace the one he gifted to his Dad.

I let him know but he found one already.

If you don’t want to use the Eversolo integrated DAC, how do you connect the Eversolo to the PSAudio DSD dac? The usb input is not the worst on the DSD dac?

You can use the digital optical output or the digital coax output from the Eversolo to the inputs on the DS dac. It won’t transfer dsd directly without modifications, but you can use them. But the internal DAC on the Eversolo does sound quite good.

I understand that the internal dac of the Eversolo is good, but I want to use the Ps Dac.
I think that if I use the digital coax output from the Eversolo, the sound will come from the Eversolo internal dac to the Ps dac.Don’t you think that the sound quality would be worst?

The usb input is way to go. Unless I missed why you don’t want to use it? If super concerned get a DDC and go I2S. One for sale here. With all the goodies

Some time ago, I read that the usb input of the Ps Dac was the worst for the sound quality…

It appears that you have both Eversolo and DS DAC? I would try the connections and see how they sound to you in comparison to the internal DAC on the Eversolo.

It’s not as good as I2S but better than coax

Nope - if you take the coax out of the eversolo (or any of the digital outs) it will exit the eversolo before the eversolo built-in DAC

As Brian said - either get something like a matrix and go usb out to the matrix and I2s to the ps audio dac ( what I do) - or look at the holo red and ask the guys over on that thread as it has an i2s out. But I really like my eversolo/matrix setup to my direct stream.

Thank you for your help

Has anyone tried the Highresaudio streaming service installed on the A6? Also, how do you go about installing other services? I would be interested is a streaming radio service, I think.

any dac comparisons yet to DS MkII?

I wish I could, but I don’t have a MK ll. Receiving the Master Edition has severely thrown a monkey wrench into my DAC plans. Originally, I was going to make my final MK ll decision in July (this month). But the ME has elevated my Benchmark DAC to levels I’ve never experienced previously. Must be I’m experiencing lower levels of noise, or maybe jitter, that is forcing my to reevaluate. It’s been kind of mind boggling. So, I’ve been luxuriating in my new level and exploring the differences with it and the new built in DAC. Probably I will conclude to go ahead with the MK ll purchase, as it should be better still. Does make me wonder if CDs should continue to be my preferred digital source or maybe shift my focus more into just streaming. I’m just so happy with the results that getting with the Eversolo streaming experience.

surprising that those that have both have not reported their observations

I just dont have time. I barely get time to listen lately other than play around and compare. I have been comparing the Red with A6. Only issue is when I get DSD right, PCM flips on me. Fix PCM and DSD flips on me. So I can only do one at a time. Silly dip switches on Red. But when I do, they are very close to each other in sound. Both very good streamers. I would be happy staying with Red if I had to. But I dont. The Screen, casting, software, local storage all big wins for Eversolo for $50 more I think. I will be keeping that one. Not to mention Dip switch issue.

Anyone want a Red?

I did…until the many comments about setup hurdles.

selling or giving?

lol…not giving. I thought someone figured out the dip switch settings for MKII. There are 4 combos. 2 I tried. I have not tried the others. I should before I list.

alas, from what is reported, dip switches are like chasing tails
