Perhaps down grade and re upgrade. With 2.5.0 the factory reset helped a few others who had gotten the Dual AES selected after upgrading.
OK That was my next plan. Thanks.
2.5.1 carried my settings over perfectly. I did not have to adjust anything.
The factory reset was what finally returned the sound after 2.5.1 firmware and latest fpga.
Thanks for your help once again.
All mine carried over too. It finally was elusive factory reset required after firmware and fpga update and all settings retained after factory reset. This was definitely my most frustrating software update yet
After some listening the new MK2 FPGA and firmware seems to have opened up even more space between instruments that is very noticeable with the BACCH-dsp engaged songs are even more enveloping and further wrap around.
I am glad you got your issue resolved. If I still had one I would have offered to call you and walk you through the menu.
Thanks. The input vs output sub menu Ted mistakenly suggested threw me for a loop on why . The real root cause was needing a factory reset.
I wander how much of my sound improvement I am hearing is the now functioning i2s auto powe functions. It is much better than using shorting plugs.
According to statements above the USB and i2s auto power off does not function in 2.5.1.
I stayed with 2.5.0 because of this and the wrong info being displayed.
I had to go back to 2.3.6, factory reset, then to 2.5.0. and now all is well as far as the XLR1, XLR2 is concerned. I also went into the i2s polarity and set it to inverted as recommended above. Everything is displayed correctly now. I also verified the channels are correct and that i2s and USB does in fact turn off with 2.5.0.
Thanks Ted.
I thought it was only USB power off. I am only using USB.
When I tried version 2.5.1 nether USB or i2s would turn off. I downgraded to 2.5.0 and had the XLR issues. I then downgraded to 2.3.6, reset, then to 2.5.0.
I just had to go through all my settings and fix the MAX volume and Fixed volume, i2s polarity, Auto power, and a couple others. It takes about 5 minutes. It would be much faster if we didnāt have to hold the setting button every time to get to home.
Mission accomplished first try. Thank you to Ted, Paul and everyone at PS Audio. The sound is outstanding, I picked Aerosmithsā Greatest hits to listen too first, just sublime.
Is a 2.5.2 firmware planned for release in near future?
I think we need to give them more time to sort this all out so they have time to check for bugs and issues. So far with 2.5.0 Iām pretty happy with the sound and transitions between tracks. Also knowing the power off is functioning is a plus. It was a little work to reset all the settings however worth it in the end.
Yes, but probably not early next week.
Thanks,Ted
I have settled running firmware 2.3.6 & 208 Antero. I just use i2s from PST & coaxial from streamer.
Playing some DSF files on my mkii for the first time. All works well and sounds great (so far). One question, is there a way to tell, via the mkii display, if the input is DoP or DSD? I only see DSD64. Pretty sure Iām using DoP out through JRiver and Signature Rendu. Thanks!
Edit: at the end of a DSF album, after it was over, there was a white noise coming out of my left channel. NEVER heard that before. I randomly played a 16/44 FLAC and away it went. Iām playing another DSF and all sounds fine.
2nd edit: and now the right channel. Thanks for acknowledging the issue mr Ted.
Iām working on the white noise problem, itās rare but was being covered up by the code that caused the ticks and popsā¦
I installed v2.5.1 and no more pops/ticks were heard - much thanks, Ted.
The MK2 is awesome. Iāve been listening to some a cappella music which really showcases the MK2ās ability to let one enjoy mixed but separate voicesā¦beautiful.
