Same issue on the iPhone @Paul
I donât own any Apple products so I donât use a phone/tablet/pad to access this site. If thatâs what youâre seeing then something needs to be done.
That having been said, on a Windows 11 laptop everything seems honkey-dorey. From my phraseology and access point Iâm old school so take my comments accordingly. Iâm sure thisâll be ironed out hopefully sooner rather than later.
Let me see what I can figure out.
I wonder if this is a cache issue on your phoneâs browser. The home page icon should be the same as the forum threads.
Am using Google chrome on my Samsung phone. The Ai icon is on top of the âupload photoâ icon in the lower right corner. Cannot click on âupload photoâ icon.
You can clear a cache for safari on iphone (and other browsers though they all use the same engine on iphone) in settings, but it doesnât work like desktop browser due to more limited space, so you really shouldnât have to clear it. Word of warning, if you clear it, you will be logged out of every site you might be using
Interestingly I am seeing the old home image reappear when I scroll up on safari on iphone, and it disappears when I scroll down. My first guess on that is that there is some code in Discourse for handling mobile scrolling or animations that your changes might have possibly conflicted with.
I just encountered this issue on my iPhone. Annoying, to be sure, but I figured out a workaround: Click on the image file you want to post, copy it, then paste it into the forum thread text box.
Confirming this oddityâŠa head scratcher for meâŠ
Freaking AI button is still in the way of uploading pics.
Why canât it be in the menu? I canât believe this is something Discord did on purpose.
Sigh.
Same on Android.
Which is the proper Home button? The Red House or the PSA logo?
Is the bright white banner that resides at the top of all the pages in dark mode, here to stay? ![]()
The red house used to be the forum home logo until it got replaced with a PS Audio blue house. You shouldnât see the red house anymore. If you do, itâs a head scratcher.
I just tested it on Safari and itâs correct. Has to somehow be stored in cache.
site remains a hot mess of ugly and disfunction. Takes a lot of the fun out of posting IMHO of-course.
Well I have tested it too. I cleared the cache on safari mobile, went back to the site and when I scroll down its the old home logo and when I scroll up its the new one. Iâm afraid that not every issue can be explained by cache, its not that simple anymore. Iâm sorry Paul, I really do admire your work but this is just a mess and its a shame because its become an important community to me.
This is why testing vs production sites are so important for âsimpleâ websites.
It works great for me. I tried it on four different web browsers on my computer, laptop, and phone, and it looked and worked perfectly on all of them. Something else more localized must be amiss?
Yes, its entirely possible for something local to cause issues⊠but thats doubtful when multiple people make similar claims. Web development is no longer simple - there are hundreds of variables in browsers, versions, OSes, and hardware. Not to mention what you are trying to do with the site. For example, I didnât know about the AI icon being in the way of the posting images function when using a phone until someone else mentioned it. And sure enough, the same thing is happening for me. Unfortunately, one person testing it on their relatively few systems is not a full test.
Still an issue on my iPhone.
FWIW.
Given where Paul is on this, I think the most efficient continuation for troubleshooting is the userâs local environment rather than assuming a systemic site issue. While multiple complaints can hint at a broader problem, the vast majority of issues stem from simple, local factorsâsuch as stale browser cache, conflicting extensions (like ad-blockers), or outdated software.
Jumping straight to a platform-wide diagnosis can waste time. At this stage, itâs more productive to rule out these low-effort local checks before asking Paul to chase down every possible configuration difference across users.
