Installed as a “desktop icon” which means it doesn’t open directly in Safari but in a separate window.
Until the change it was grand, filled the screen, dark mode respected, enough space to type and to add an image.
Now the screen space for the forum is smaller, with a standard white “web call out from an app” white bar, then the white PSA band, and 2 thirds of the previous screen space for the actual forum.
The upload image is inaccessible behind the AI icon, and if the AI is accidentally activated, it more than fills the forum screen space, with no “dismiss” button visible.
Worse, quitting the webapp and restarting restores it with the AI screen filling the space again with, still, no way to dismiss, effectively locking me out of the app permanently on the iphone.
I have taken screenshots, but no way to upload because of the AI icon…
Edit - can’t email screenshots as that iPhone has no accounts on it (not even an apple account) so that I can use it as a remote without a passcode.
Edit 2 - as an aside and no biggie but if not intentional it should be reported:
I now can not see who has liked any posts (mine or anyone elses) on desktop PC Website.
Many of the issues are explained well above. I do wish to add a few more.
First, the top banner should fade up when scrolling down. This provides more usable screen space while initially preserving the company banner. As I mentioned before, the Roon forum (believe Roon uses the same forum software) is a great model to copy in nearly every way.
Second, the back button, using Safari, takes you out of the site and not to the last read forum page. This is consistent regardless of the number of pages looked at in the forum. The back button should do what it does everywhere else, take you back one page.
Just updated to 18.7.2 and the old, new home icon is still shown on the forum home page on my iPhone using Safari as previously shown in the image attached to my earlier post.
PS Audio is working to make the forum part of the website. One specific goal is to make it easier to navigate between the products/support and the forum. This has been a challenge for those who are not regular users of the forum and know the tricks.
To his immense credit, Paul is taking this on himself. I know from experience what a challenge this is and how no matter what you do there will be those who grumble.
Constructive feedback helps.
To add to the issues, I am currently using an Android phone to access the forum. The problem I have is the send post arrow button is blocked by the keyboard. And I can’t get the keyboard to move. I have a squirley work around that allows me to post but it is a bother.
all good. I didn’t mean to be overly critical. I have a design firm and we run into these issues all the time with websites and user experience and all that.
Aha! Thanks for the nudge again, I finally figured it out. Of course you’re all correct, I just couldn’t figure it out. I found a buried admin area specific to mibile devices that I gad not yet changed or updated. That should all be good now. Whew! Thought the world might have tilted but….
Your efforts are much appreciated. Sometime Paul it might be interesting if you could share a few thoughts, maybe in a daily post or video, on how you attack problems that are not really in your area as you have. There could be value to us mere mortals puzzling out our own audio journey. Again thank you!
