Forum just went wonky

But it’s still having an identity crisis. Especially interesting since there’s no sign of AI on the Roon site.

I asked it what dacs were better than the PMG at similar pricepoints and was recommended the Dave and May with flowery descriptions of both. But that’s not the worst thing: when I told the AI that its mom was hand-tuned for organic warmth and musical flow, it tried to play the “I don’t have a mom” card.

It’s not Discord. It’s me. Well, it’s the plugin company we use for the AI assistant. I can’t control where it goes.

I have a plan, so just hang in there. The administrator at Discord is helping me to make it possible to rewrite the footer which when activated, so extend lower as it has more “stuff”. This should include an empty area so then if you scroll down the page the icon shouldn’t hide anything of value.

I do love a good puzzle. I’m glad you do to!

I was able to figure out a temporary fix and have scheduled it for Monday to launch. On the forums page I will simply turn it off. We’re launching a new website on Monday, anyway, so might as well throw that into the mx as well.

Must be some sort of changeover going on…can’t find the forum via the webpage on the iMac using Safari this morning…

Update/FYI:

There is a link to the forum at the very bottom of the home page. Here’s to hoping they put a link at the top of the page as well/instead…

I was disoriented with the new website and couldn’t find the forum. Had to click on old link in my email. Then I saw your message about scrolling down to find the forum link. I like the new landing page aside from the misplacement of the forum link.

Me too…

I should have the fixed today. The footer on the main website (the lower section at the end of the page) has all the links to everywhere but the products. We felt it was easier, once you got the hang of it, to have all the product stuff rip in the top menu and everything else in the bottom menu. I have to update the footer in Discord separately.

@Paul : Hope you saw this… We LIKE the new homepage set up.

Keep up the great work. I have never come across anyone during my lifetime that keeps innovating, moving, pushing at relentlessly as you do.

Best regards.

It is coming along nicely. No hiccups here this morning. The top white banner serves as a double shot cortado for my morning wake-up. All is good.

Don’t disagree, but my visits to the website are 90+ percent for the purpose of accessing the forums. Since this is all about me , it would be nice if you could find an inoffensive spot to add a forum link at or near the top of the page.

Maybe you could put a drop down link for the THE HIFI FAMILY content in the main banner at the top of the page.

Just a suggestion…

Now that’s the right response! Definitely all about you! As it should be. Let me noodle on how that might look. I don’t want to muck up the clean look of the top menu that I worked so hard to get (see, now it’s all about me ).

Open to suggestions from the members.

Thanks! Lots of work but also it was a fun project to rebuild there site. When. You get a chance go to the Music menu and let me know what you think of the new Octave page. I worked really hard trying to emulate the way the new Netflix browser works and keeping everything on one page.

Blush. Thanks for the kind words.

It works knowing now that scrolling to the bottom is intentional. Of course to get to where they’re going it does force visitors to run the candy aisle gauntlet

Paul,

I took a tour around all the web pages and I am so impressed with the continuity and look and feel. Octave looks great and functions well. The only issue I saw with Octave is that the prices of the different formats aren’t visible until you add the selection to the cart.

I also really like the grouping of the components under the new categories.

After getting used to it, I think the footer on the main page makes a lot of sense for all things unrelated to the sale of products. The links are easier to navigate when they are not nestled under a single menu like before. II do understand that not having immediate access to the Forum link is not ideal.
