I heard of these but have never tried them. I am not too crazy about the look, and they need to be at the top tier level for the prices they are asking.
I agree that AVRoomSerice EVPs are great - but they are maybe too expensive these days.
They are WAY better than Oreas, but i haven’t compared them to the Auva’s - which I need to do as I have a set of those also. I will do that after i finish my next other round of upgrades.
The Auva 100s are great under FR30s tho.
Perhaps a footer thread is a better place for all this chatter?
I try to use restrained language describing audio things to steer away from perceived hyperbole. I’ll stand by my language there. . . but also note that I am also using PS Audio PowerBases under my components, and three of them have the PowerBases also on top of 4" maple platforms, in and on a rack that has 2" maple shelves, so quite a bit of additional isolation going on.
I just ordered six more EQs…
You can use spikes into the threaded recess in the Stack AUVA 50s.
I have the AUVA 70 speaker isolators under my Fyne F703s and am currently using their spikes into the 70s with great results…
Wait there is one! Maybe @elk can help move some of the footer topics. Thank you
There is an youtube reviewer that mentioned the PowerZone is getting a lot of attention. Most likely referring to this thread.
YT link or title of this video?
I may have to agree with you. With all other components the footers under the body sounded better (not just stack EQ but all my footers). But with PZ, I like the SQ better under its feet too. PZ is just different from other components.
Oh, I also replaced three Orea Indigo under DS MK2 with three EQ (under body). This with the four under PZ and three under MU2 has made the music so alive, and the soundstage is incrediable. I love it!
So you are saying the combination of the PZ feet and the AUVA EQ is better than the AEQ directly on the PZ Chasis?
That was my impression, give it a try if you have EQ.
I’m not doubting the results. I haven’t taken the dive in the stack audio footer rabbit hole yet. I’m tempted tho.
A couple of recent observations after 800 hours of burn-in on the PZ.
A few days ago I turned off (put in standby) the MU2 and M700s when I went to bed. The next morning when they were turned back on the SQ seemed to have regressed a little, listenable but noticeable. After a few hours the SQ returned to normal and has not had a similar regression since left on.
Having some IsoAccoustics Orea Bronze footers laying around, I put them under the PZ feet. The PZ feet fit almost like they were designed to fit in the circle on top of the Bronze Orea’s. They seem to be having a positive effect so I left them under the PZ’s feet even though they look a little funny.
You should be able to leave the M700’s and the MU2 on 24/7 with no issues and you wouldn’t notice on your electric bill that you had them powered on all the time.
IME the PZ tends to benefit slightly with additional isolation directly under its feet. IME, Stack Audio AUVA EQ 1. I wonder how an HRS rack would up the game.
I’m on day 1 with the PZ. Disclaimer: I haven’t read through all 1400 posts here and have it only crudely set up on my floor next to my cheapo temporary rack using the stock power cord. I did try a Kubala Sosna Temptation 20A cord initially, but didn’t feel like it was working well. My only other 20A cord, a Furutech DPS-4.1, is on my Essence amp, so didn’t want to introduce variables by moving that.
I don’t know how much break in it requires, but so far the effect is pretty subtle. A little darker (a touch of Gryphon tone, dare I say), a more solid center image. Maybe a little quieter, but also seems to have a little less air and bite. Obviously need to give it more time. I’m certainly not disappointed, but I have no jaw dropping transformation to report. The real test will be taking it out after living with it a while.
I will say the Furutech GTO-D3 NCF power block I’m coming from is a damn good option if your needs are straightforward. I also have dedicated 20A lines and a brand new 400A service line to my house. So my power situation is likely less in need of remediation than most.
BTW I just popped it under some Cardas Myrtle blocks after reading the footer comments - it does seem to change the tone a little, I can’t say if it’s better or not. Certainly worth playing around with it.
My experience with the PZ 3.10 is proper break-in takes some time. In my system its character changed enough over the first three weeks for me to with hold my review. At 4 - 5weeks it has come in to its own enough for me to understand what differences it is providing. All differences I have heard across two systems were not completely beneficial, They being notable, but minor, and restricted to a limited number of recordings. Once I get back int town to my primary system and have an opportunity to gather my thoughts I put out a review.
I do recommend the Stack Audio Auva feet under the PZ 3.10 feet. At $225 delivered with a 30 day trial period that are worth consideration once your PZ has settled in, IME one is served best to minimize system changes until confident the unit is broken in.
To summarize many of the posts, the burn-in has some rough periods. It took over 600 hours for my PZ and new Dragon PC to settle down.
Glad to hear you’re not disappointed, it will only get better. And replacing the “courtesy cord” with something like your Furutech I’m sure will help a lot…
