Jay's CDT2, MK3 possessed by spirits?

Has anyone had this experience with theirs?: Mine is perfectly level, on a level shelf and the lid moves on it’s own just enough to trigger the “open” warning. It takes 3 or 4 seconds to open.
This happens with no music playing, no chance for vibrations.
My fix is to adjust Stack Auvas to raise the rear by a couple millimeters.
I find this annoying enough that it might find it’s way into The Closet.

Not been my experience with either the CDT2 Mk3 or CDT3 Mk3. Both are well mannered.

No demons here.

You might need to consult an exorcist. Seriously though, a friend of mine has one of these and says no problems with his.

Or put one of those magical door stop weights on the sliding cover.

A Rolex should suffice.

Your friend has no problem with his exorcist?
That’s comforting.

That is my ultimate solution to this weird issue.

No problem with my 3 3!
Maybe email Alvin and see what he says.

Gremlin in the house to play with your transport! you need a few thick audio cables to tie it up. I suggest Stealth.

Ron,

I too haven’t seen any issues like this with either the Jay’s CDT2 or CDT3. Maybe the door sliders/ bearings are slightly out of level when the chassis is level. Jay’s is typically excellent at providing responses to questions like this. I’d reach out to them directly or the US distributor.

Or… maybe the microswitch used to indicate door closed is misadjusted and causing extra pressure on the door mechanism.

Good luck,
Kurt

Thanks Kurt
I thought about the microswitch but rejected that because I can see that the door opens.
If the door/slider is off kilter, the solution would have to be a new top or housing.
For now, the door stop is the simplest fix.
Since I rarely play CDs, I’ll just forget that that happens.

Sounds good. I was thinking a misaligned microswitch might push the door open. This might be relatively easy to adjust yourself if you’re feeling “intrepid”.

Isn’t that an aircraft carrier?
