Network Acoustics Tempus switch

Thanks Al, I like to be a happy frog in a deep well. The outside world is vast but also dangerous. It’s better without knowing

Didn’t Eno 2 just come out last year?

If you are still pondering getting a Stealth V17LE, that possibly may soon vanish.
According to Serguei, only 100 pairs can be made. Last month, he said I
“ got the 99th pair”.
Obviously, only a short time will test that claim. What mattered to me is I know what it does
and even though there are great integrated components out there, like the G333, I still get my
kicks from separates.

Paul’s recent YouTube video, with a question on whether an integrated amp can ever outperform separates, is exactly 3:33 long.

There is only one hundred pairs of the 99th pair available. Lol

.

Paul is right, that 99th pair was available two years ago since I asked the dealer around that time. 10 more sold after that at least, and Al bought five alone.

The V17 XLR is still the finest cable I have ever tried by a large margin! The Royale speaker cables may be a close second other wise no other interconnect can match what the Sakra V17 delivers imo.

It’s been a couple of weeks with the Tempus so this morning I decided to switch from fiber to copper. Using a 5m AQ Cinnamon Ethernet cable I had laying around I connected to one of the “built in” ports instead of an SFP. To my surprise the Cinnamon cable sounded at least as good, and maybe even a little better.

The LHY FMC and associated SFPs/fiber is out - now I’m thinking I need a better Ethernet cable.

I have heard people say one is better than the other. Both ways. I replaced a fine Ethernet cable with glass fiber. Heard no difference. Learned there are SPECIAL SFPs and Fiber. Switched to that. Heard no difference. I heard Stealth’s finest ethernet cable makes a difference. Added that, no difference. I am done with it.

Yeah, you’ve got me thinking Sakra V17LE before a ridiculously expensive Ethernet cable. Oh, and a Grande for the MU2 so I can move the CGLE to the Tempus.

You are a lucky audiophile, my friend…

I just went to look at the Stealth cables. How the hell do you route these things without pulling your rack way out and having a huge mess back there? I’m planning to build a very discreet walnut cabinet with HRS custom shelves and there’s no way I could use any of those.

Right, they are a pain - the back of my rack shelves are 17” off the wall.

The Stealth power cables fight you at every turn, but, you put up with it for the results.

Oof ok. Unfortunately a no go for me, need the system to be as out of the way as possible… y’all have seen how I tucked the Gryphon Essence completely out of sight…

Back on the Tempus - put on some electronic/dancey pop tracks I haven’t listened to in a while and the focus and snap and clarity the Tempus imparts really brings out the best in them. It’s groovier and cleaner and more dynamic and more listenable all at the same time, even with highly processed stuff that’s often cringe-inducing on high end systems. SW10 Pro also sounded good, but distinctly more compressed and sluggish.

My Stealth cables are the main attraction. The audio gear is so secondary. Expensive cables are so very!

Ridiculously expensive but will reward you with performance you didn’t know your components were capable of. V17 makes other interconnects performance seem governed or capped when you hear the V17 release the extra goodness that is masked by all other IC’s

Someone told me to not twist the CGLE power cables when I borrowed them months ago.

#1 (low) rack on the front wall: distance from the wall 20’. Life’s good!

#2 rack on the side wall: distance from the wall 9’. The Allocator power strip on the floor can help managing the STEALTH power cords a bit. But it’s challenging indeed.

Here 2 Origins (router and Tempus) need a heavy weight on top of them to be more stable. I’m using the HRS Damping Plates for instance. I prefer PSUs not stacked, sonically and visually speaking.

Having said that, it’s a mess: interconnects, ethernet cables, USB cables, ground wires, MSB fiber and Toslink, power cords… almost 25 cables within 9’

Someone told you not to borrow them as they may ruin your audio experience upon return. Lol

Putting no undue pressure on Stealth power cables is my preference. Stealth has no
recommendations. I took similar care with Iconoclast cables, especially their interconnects,
which had bend and twist parameters, suggested by Galen.
I think Stealth’s build is very solid, but, in my estimation, their power cords need more space for
bend and twist allowance, than most other manufacturer’s cable. A difference, not a deal breaker,
unless your space and component placement has
little or no wiggle room.
