It was untrue at the time he wrote it as well, but it remains an amusing saying.
Here is a much more accurate saying:
āCorrelation does not imply causation.ā
I think it was more true back in the day of classical music than the other genres.
I donāt think the phrase/saying was uttered in a literal sense. Rather I think it was meant as an observation/lament regarding recording performances/productions that were not up to snuff.
Well, if you had heard him speak in person at a show like I did, I think youād feel differently.
Iāll take your word for it. But, Iāll say this, it strikes me as an inane thing to say and mean it literally.
Cheers.
I agree with you on that point.
āOut of Thin Airā came to my mindā¦
Poor recording, or bad performance?
Superb recording and mastering but poor music (in terms of musicality) for my taste.
I assume with Covid, Ted has plenty of time to tweak his amazing firmware to better the DS DAC yet once again. After this year, that would be an AMAZING gift!
When Ted brings a new update to improve the already great DSD performance that will be a great gift and a substantial COVID survival tool!
Do we really want to tempt fate in 2020 with a firmware update? I wouldnāt want my Directstream Dac to explode!
I just swapped out my DSD DAC for an Aesthetix Pandora Eclipse DAC. Iām not thinking Iām swapping back. Holy Molly! WOW!!
Nice. Iām a big fan of Aesthetix products. Itās great when you find the product that works for you in your setup! Congrats.
Iāve used the DSD for the past 4 years. Every update is complete. Itās a great DAC. I will keep it and use in my office I guess.

How about a virtual head massage for Ted to squeeze out some firmware? We must do something!
Yes.
Itās been over a year now after the last update.
A new one would be nice
